SelectSmart.com 2004 Presidential Candidate Selector!

From SA

1. Your ideal theoretical candidate. (100%) Click here for info
2. Libertarian Candidate (69%) Click here for info
3. Green Party Candidate (67%) Click here for info
4. Sharpton, Reverend Al - Democrat (66%) Click here for info
5. Socialist Candidate (61%) Click here for info

I'm a little concerned that there is only an 8% gap between being a Libertarian and being a Socialist but hey!

14. Bush, President George W. - Republican (31%) Click here for info
This also worries me.

I would be more worried that crazy boy Sharpton is Number 4 on your list.

PS

Bush, President George W. - Republican came up top. \0/

I clearly shows I know that republican beliefs match mine.

I am also going to throw this in. Anyone that says Bush ruined the economy is a 'I listen to Liberal BS' a hole.

The market crashed in 2000 and OMG Bill Clinton was President.

I did, but I couldn't be arsed reading them entirely, so I just checked for a quick impression. There may be a fair chance that if I were to get into them deeper, my viewpoints of them would change.

You can best sum it up as:

Great needed orginzations at one time that have now either lost their way or are not needed anymore.

For example, the Civil Liberites union blah blah whaterver won't do dick to help you unless you make the 10 o'clock news.

Hey, you're right, he's ruining the economy.

Running deficits larger than the GDP of 95% of the nations in the world isn't good for the economy

That link makes the ACLU look good since their opponents are shown as Christian idiots.

As for the nativity scene stuff - if you have a constitution which states something then you either enforce it, or you change it. You don't just let it slide "Oh well, a little bit of state-religion is OK!". The ACLU has been involved in hundreds (possibly thousands) of cases on a whole range of issues. Focussing on one seems like a typical stupid tabloid tactic "OMG, local council spends all their time obsessing about gays".

As for gun rights, they're hardly silent since they make specific mention of it on their webby : http://archive.aclu.org/library/aaguns.html

Don't get me wrong, the ACLU have numerous problems but when you're putting the dichotomy as the ACLU vs the Religious Nuts then I know where my "vote" goes.

Re: SelectSmart.com 2004 Presidential Candidate Selector!

As for the original topic, I think my top one would be the socialist ones, followed by the greens or the dems or whatever. Don't particularly like those tests though as they frame everything in conventional debate terms (e.g. you either support privatisation of welfare or you support massive federal programs).

It wouldn't matter if it's bigger than the GDP of every other country in the world, as long as it's only a small percentage of the US GDP (which it is).
