I see tons of online games do this kind of thing and it works. By giving your own players some benefit and get them to vote at voting sites will up your exposure.

If you reward everybody with roids, the total amount of roids in the universe will grow a lot, which makes the wargame more enjoyable.

So, what do you guys think?

Shit idea. I've seen it in action in Spaceminers (you know, that game with thousands of players, all of which joined because of mpogd.com-like sites), and it did more harm than good.

We are seriously thinking about something like this. The main issue is that there is probabaly no way to verify if someone voted or not.

Its well known that shit games use this as a method to get press though.

The voting sites shouldn't even allow it (though they like the traffic)

The idea is that you vote for a game you like, not for free goods ingame.

but one assumes that you wouldn't be playing the game unless you like it. This is in essence just a counter to the fact that people are lazy surely?

If people are lazy, they don't care enough about your game, and thus should not vote for it. Bribing players into voting for a game is stupid, useless, and as far as I know it's usually not allowed by the sites either.
