If he won't, then I'll pick up on your argument that most of the Beatles' ouput was rubbish. Which quite frankly is a bit wrong.
From A Hard Days Night until the end, with the possible exception of some of Rubber Soul, I am hard pressed to find a poor song. I will even fight the case for "Revolution 9" and Harrison's worst excesses.

That's your decision of course, but if you compare to some other bands around at the time (The Beach Boys for instance), the Beatles produced a much greater % of poor quality material.
I'm not saying they were a bad band, but merely commenting on those people who will say that everything produced by them was genius and they created the greatest music in the history of mankind, which is a pretty overrated description of a band which created songs with occasionally fine melodies, overrated lyrics (they're DREADFUL in part) and the like.

Whilst I have Pet Sounds, I've never really understood the big deal over the Beach Boys. It certainly isn't as good an album as Sergeant Pepper's, as some critics have recently claimed and "God Only Knows" is by far the best song on it.

not really...
just intelligence levels. And baldrick in 2,3,4 was stupider than Blackadder in 1 anyway. And all of the blackadders were slightly different in character in any case.
Percy was more or less the same... but only in 2.
there are lots of other minor things too. It is a series that changed a lot more than people often give it credit for.
