Paying will destory PA sooner or later.

Lots people quit cus p2p.

how can you compare planetarion to swg?

they're a TAD BIT DIFFERENT imo

SWG got alot paying players cause people actually believe in that game.
Why should anyone care to gamble money on planetarion when last round didn't even finish ?
I hate to say it, but pa is dying and needs a free round to get people back into the game!

Just an example (no real numbers)

p2p r9 = about 1000 players that pay 10$ each makes total 10000$ income. about 1000 players round 10 again that also pay 10$ each makes another 10000$ = 20000$ total

free r9 = no income, p2p round 10 would take 1000 more players to pay for the game that it was if both r9 and 10 are p2p to make same profit, and when this game was free earlier much over 100 000 players played the game and i bet 2% of them would stay and pay to play round 10 again... think about it....

(The number with 100 000 I'm not sure about, but i heard 400 000 some time, but it might have been 40 000, can't remember tbh, but still it only means that 8% of those 40 000 that play r9 would stay with the game)

Remember its all based on my thought and guesses, but I think it makes some sense atleast, and thats good enough for me

It does make some sense, assuming - as you have in this thread and others - that Jolt wants the old and current playerbases to come back. Everything done so far seems to suggest that they have another playerbase in mind. I have no idea where from, but the r9 we are getting was never designed to bring players in - just to stop us all whining about having no game to play while they develop a new one.

Well whoever they want to start playing the game, they won't start paying for a game before they have tried it first.
Maybe all the pa-clones around will save the game as thats about the only place we can play free planetarion and keep out interessts and recruit new people...

If there will be p2p that means every round less players not only because p2p but lots of quit due to sick of pa -> real life. But no new players unless ex-pa players persuaded by ex-pa friends and some real n00bs who want to try something new.
