Anatomy for beginners
Is anyone watching that program? (Brits only I'm afraid)

I'm surprised at just how disturbing it is, and I'm wondering what happens to the bodies after they've 'dismantled' them...

It is quite fascinating, watch it.

I haven't found it disturing at all.
Although I did squirm a bit when they took the skin of the guy last night. His testicles hanging down all unprotected...

My sister's doing medicine at UCL at the moment (1st year).

They get their own body for the entire year. I was always under the impression they'd get out a limb or something, that was relevant to that lesson (say, an arm when doing muscles or something). So they have the same person with them to cut up and dissect the whole time.

The idea of that repulses me.

It's the easiest way, especially given it gets you used to working with cadavers.

It's really good i think.

We work with cadavers at uni a fair bit so i haven't really learnt anything from it as such, but it's more about informing people with no background in these things.

The bodywork's exhibition in london a couple of years ago was also very informative. I think the guy should be praised.

Gunther's hat is the stuff of legends btw.

surely it could be a basic education from anatomical drawings.
watching i couldn't help but feel that the points were so basic that,
a) there's no need for the dissection.
b) there's no need fo the nude models

when i do a murder or a manslaughter trial and there are photographs of an autopsy counsel and the judge get together to decide how we can make sure that the jury don't see them. anatomical drawings is usually the way, i fear dissection on tv is unnecessarily showy.

i saw it last night, might watch it tonight if i remember (after desperate housewives, \o/). Its probably the most disgusting thing ive ever seen in my life though, and merits watching for that reason alone.

Sadly, it was just like that. Especially last night.
