Would the mods do this?
What follows is an idea I had: The GD Music Archive (TGMA) but with links and descriptions to external sites instead of album recommendations. I figured this would be a good idea as we theoretically have similar interests and I started wondering what other political blogs dante reads after he pointed me in the direction of "counterpunch". This falls in line with the proposed Book Archive.
But I realised both ideas would befall the same fate as TGMA: me not being arsed to update them thanks to my adroit indolence. So then the only logical solution (apart from using a wiki or something which people aren't guaranteed to visit as it won't be habitual) is for someone active to do it.
This someone would have to be able to delete the posts once they've been added into the main post to keep the thread manageable: After the main post gets huge like TGMA you start forgetting which posts you've added and which you haven't. In addition, keeping the thread to one page (max 2) means users don't have to go to page 14 just in case someone's added something new and they won't have to trawl through the intermittent debates that go on (any debates that occur can be moved into their own thread); they'll be able to navigate all the recommendations at speed.
So I'm taking about the mods doing it. The best thing about the archive threads being the mods' responsibility is that they continue to be maintained even after one mod buggers off.
So would the mods take on this responsibility? Or make someone a mod to maintain the archive threads? (Not me, indolence remember?)

Okay, sure, start the thread and I'll update it, say, every week or something.

Re: Would the mods do this?
I'll wait until the other the mods (perhaps just GD the mods) agree to continued maintenance as part of GD modship before starting the thread(s). I want to make sure the threads won't die as soon as you and I get bored of editing them.

Re: Would the mods do this?
I was thinking about a thread simply outlining which blogs we read as I've started reading quite a few recently...

Promising to help update this thread thing once it kicks off in case I kick the bucket.

Re: Would the mods do this?
I'd prefer it if that didn't happen. Humour's wonderful that way.

Re: Would the mods do this?
OK, I will create the thread soon, or not so soon. I shall start with the book archive thread because the book thread we already have will fit into my plans nicely, in two ways. It's really quite simple. TBC.
