Sunglasses
As summer is coming:
Suggest me brands and what the brands mean/associate with etc (eg snowboarding - Oakley).
I'm thinking of getting a (my first) pair.
I'm willing to pay decent money etc but i wanna make "the right choice".
Ta in advance.

Re: Sunglasses
why specifically mirrored, not one of my mates that where glasses don't use them for perving purposes.
i've never been a glasses man myself, never found any that were confortable as well as looked good on me.

Re: Sunglasses
I've never been a glasses man either. Same reason as djbass.
Also, I used to wear glasses (I wear contacts now) and so I couldn't wear both sunglasses and glasses, it was either/or. So I got used to just not bothering.
I think sunglasses look kind of posey too - I hate talking to someone wearing sunglasses too, it really irritates me when I can't see their eyes

Re: Sunglasses
i usually buy nice, trendy, cheap, but breakable sunglasses. lost about 8 pairs in 2 years because i or other people sat on them. and i have one mate who had this habit to punch people on the chest when he got annoyed. 3 pairs of sunglasses died that way.

Mine are from Next and they have met all the proper UV protection standards, apparently.
only £12.99 too and they're quite trendy.

The NEXT ones are very easily broken. I have these. I got them 6 years ago and they are still going strong. Highly reccomended.

If you're as capable as me at breaking things then you'll want to stick to the cheaper end of the spectrum.
There really is little that i cannot break.
Those look cool though Madina.

Re: Sunglasses
ive only ever bought rayban
ive got a pair of predators, a pair of sidestreets and another one that i cant remember the name of..
the sidestreets are polarised so i wear them the most and they are my 'most recent' purchase. if you are going to get a pair try and make sure they are polarised.
it makes a monumental difference when walking across a beach in sun or whatnot. or even going out on the ocean blue etc

Get a glass that fits your face and that makes you looking.
After it gets stolen buy a cheaper version from the flea market.

How do you manage not to brak them when you sit on them? All i have done to mine is sit on them and the arms came off, which were easy to put back on.

I don't like them either.
Especially the amount some people spend on them. I only ever buy them when I'm on holiday and I actually need them, and I'll only spend a few quid on them.

on an interesting note none of my friends will ever let me wear mirrored lenses.
they all whine about needing to see my eyes.
perhaps i have odd friends.

Re: Sunglasses
I take it you want them for poker purposes dace?
If so, mirrored is probably not the best type to go for, 'cos your hand will reflect in the glasses when you look, revealing to any at the right angle what you hold.

I like seeing eyes too yahwe.
I get uncomfortable without being able to see them. Something to do with eye contact, I suppose.

Re: Sunglasses
Sunglasses are massively useful when driving I find. I often seem to drive fairly long journeys (2 hours plus), and I inevitably ALWAYS set off just as the sun starts going down, and usually seem to end up driving West too, so I always end up with the sun right in front of me (incidentally, does anyone else always find that the sun is always between the sun guard thing that comes down from the roof and the rearview mirror when driving?), and when it isn't between the rearview mirror and the sun guard, it's too low for it, and often, the road is wet, so it reflects off that too. Without sunglasses, I'd go (more) insain (or drive with my eyes closed, which doesn't tend to provide the best results).
Oh, and mirrored ones are the best. Making people feel uncomfortable when they talk to you puts them at a disadvantage - especially when you can see theirs (not that I am in a situation where that matters often(ever)).

Re: Sunglasses
I have a pair of Oakley X-Metals. I use them for biking when its sunny because they quite formidable.
I also have a pair of Smith Suglasses, i forget what they are called, but you can change the lenses to different shades for different light conditions. Again for Mtb.
I just want some reactions lenses for my Glasses, because they are pretty cool.
Just one other thing? When is summer coming, its raining here

Re: Sunglasses
I wore sunglasses for a tournament once. I did pretty well with them actually! I bought a pair a couple of years ago before going on holidays in the airport (cost me about seventy euro) and they've held up alright for me.
Talking about unrealism in poker on tv I was alway rather partial to the video for "out of touch"

I forgot my sunglasses when driving once. The only ones i could find in the car were my mothers, it may have been my imagination but I am sure I could see other drivers laughing at me
I hate sunglasses though, I have a terrible habit of losing them or sitting on them. Because of this I will never pay much for them so I think my last pair were a few quid from Peacocks.

Sunglasses don't make you cool, other than the "we think you are cool Homer Simpson that was cruel " (haha look at that geek he thinks sunglasses make him cool TO THE MAX) sort of cool. Perhaps you could spend that money on a cooler car.
