Recommend me some codec packs for playing videos , as some of the recent stuff ive downloaded wont play.

K Lite Codec Pack includes pretty much every codec your need and some good tools also

Generiouly direct links to exe are bad. None of these solve my problem of not being able quicktime movies all the time nor decode them into something else.

if i have problems playing files i usually try VLan This tends to fix the problem

Ok, I used to like "Tsunami Filter Pack", but that sucked in the latest version.
(VLC) VideoLanClient is nice, defenitely.

Defenitely the best thingy ever is ffdShow. Can decode lots of things, is very small, but best of all: PostProcessing (with automatic quality control if your cpu is not "idle enough"). IMO it significantly improves quality for bad encoded inet videos or low bitrates...

The "Nimo" codec pack suits me just fine at least.. Not 100% where to dl it these days..
