Re: Battle Royale
It's a film involving 14 year old japanese school girls. Was there any doubt that it was Dace's kind of film?

It was good.
That teacher died ridiculously stupidly at the end though. Spoilt it I thought. The deaths got worse and worse.
Only in Japan.

Re: Battle Royale
Although i'm not a professional critic it wont stop me from making an observation.
"Although the teachers death at the end was somewhat unbelievable (he was shot 6 times in the chest and didnt die for some time) i believe that it added to the story. Because the teacher initally appeared to have survived what seemed to be an instantly fatal assault the viewer (/reader) is left wondering if any of the deaths that had been observed had been real. This plays on the intitial viewer response that 'none of this could be real' because 'a civilised society would never counterence murder in this fashion'. This continues the suspense until the very end. An excellent dramatic ploy."
I appreciate that it sounds too "higher english" but i'll be ****ed if im going to do a proper review citing reference material instead of just giving my opinions to this board.

Re: Battle Royale
[SPOILERS]
Most everyone dies.
You find out that one of the new students is actually the survivng student from 3 years ago.
He has come on the game again to try and save people.
He has hacked the computer system which controls the neck explosive devices and can deactivate them.
In the end there is only him the girl and the boy left.
At the very end the boy and the girl are the only survivors (the "survivor" dies on the boat back to the mainland ... the boat they stole).
The boy and the girl are wanted for murder.
THE END

Re: Battle Royale
Survivor from 3 years ago was bloke with scar on head.
Bloke hacking the computer = entirely different bloke...............
?
Bloke with scar on head said he came back to find out the meaning of his girl's smile before she died after he shot her (bullets) in his last game. INFACT he said he was drugged and brought back to make it harder.........

Being loved (ie having great friend)is why she smiled.
or something ... also:
Survivor killed him (2nd last kid to die ... before survivor).

TBH Battle Royale is not a film which a (decent) sequel premise* immediately springs to mind.
*other than basically refilming the first film

I only gave away the basic premise behind it (it's only really spoilers for BR1) and I put big spoiler tags around it and left a gap.
The only thing we can conclude is you're a moron.
