Re: Havoc alliances
Oi I dont think its a good idea, your alliance is half your community if not more..
If you close that during havoc we will kinda lose the connection to each other, well we have IRC you people will say, but infact not every people are able to come on IRC, and then they have the oppurtunity to contact the community at the ingame alliance forum..
This has nothing to do with im afraid of beeing bashed and not get def.. I have been bashed and not got def all round, but this is different..

Re: Havoc alliances
Yer right another great way to kill off the community during havoc with no round 11 in sight.
Who comes up with these truly LAME ideas?

Re: Havoc alliances
Considering that defence is impossible without the alliance ETA bonus I'd like to see what suggestion you have to replace it before I vote on whether to close the alliances.

Re: Havoc alliances
none
the idea behind this havic was everyman for himself
all planets are being set to be identical, thus its an oppurtunity to show who is the best

Re: Havoc alliances
Stunning Idea!
It Will ensure that You have no choice but cooperate with your galaxy
This round has been ALOT of back stabbing relying mostly on alliances for defence. This way we get to see whose the best gal and whose the best player regardless of alliance. I like it.
BTW this wont stop anyone getting bashed by alliances, as everyone can still launch on the same tick. all it will do is hinder defence

Re: Havoc alliances
So its really just a great way to bash a few planets flat right off and make havoc a big joke. I'm sure the big guys are planning it out even as we debate this lameness.

Re: Havoc alliances
lets assume that only about 50% max of the players will touch their accounts in havoc, this means that an alliance will be of limite help as will your gal. So i think that alliance and gal will be needed to cover incs.

Re: Havoc alliances
Remove alliance ETA, remove gal ETA, let us all change planet/ruler names, shuffle the entire universe. Then it'll be everyman for himself.

Re: Havoc alliances
It’s supposed that Planetarion is a social game, where people are forced to interact whit others to survive…If alliances are banished from havoc, it will corrupt all the ideology of the game in self.

Re: Havoc alliances
the poll auto-closed after 24hrs

though tbh i don't think it can be done

I think that's a good thing to be honest. You have to look beyond the overall results at the reasons for people saying yes or no. I'ts clear that this might be a bit of fun for a lot of people, but for smaller alliances it's a huge part of the game. Most major alliances need the eta bonus but use the in-game stuff for nothing else, while the smaller ones rely on it as an integral communication link.

Re: Havoc alliances
My problem with it is that the active, skilled players who want to enjoy havoc but are stuck in dead-end galaxies will just get pounded (more than usual).
The vast majority of top planets this round came from top galaxies, so it'a obvious just how much the calibre of your galaxy affects your own game. But these people can choose a good alliance to back them up, and make up for the galaxy they didn't choose. If you're going to take away their only lifeline and call it 'everyman for himself' you should be taking away the galaxy support from everyone as well. Otherwised you're only making it even more unfair than it usually is.
If you're doing this with access to the sourcecode, it should be a simple matter of commenting out two conditionals instead of just one (forget the shuffle/rename). But when you say 'I don't think it can be done' it makes think you're doing this without source

Re: Havoc alliances
Tbh with random galaxies alliances are the strongest unit a player has these days, removing them from the game could harm the community and may even cost the game players.
I personally won't be more than dabbling in havoc, so I couldn't really care less, but I would hate to think that we'd lose players as a result of an attempt to spice up havoc. Of course the counterattacking and countercounterattacking may prove to be good for alliance community spirit, but I'm skeptical.
