Moving out into the world.
Well the time has come, im moving into a flat with my fiancée, much time and planning are about to be realised....however i have forgotten one thing!

the interweb!

Do you think the landlord would mind ntl coming and drilling a hole in the wall to install internet? what are the solutions that dont involve holes in walls?

I will ask them tommrow, but i thought i would ask gd before ringing and making myself sound like a first time ignorant tenant, that i am, working in a estate agents phoning up a letting agent and making a fool of oneself is not good.

i wish i worked someware with a letting department :S

Most landlords do not like you installing cable or sattelite.

ADSL is the best option as thats just through the phone line that I assume you have already. Getting the line activated for ADSL has no effect on the property itself.

Most landlords you can persuade by pointing out it increases the value of the property. They then go ask their agent who confirms this. They then return to you and say "OK, but I don't want it to make a mess!".

Problem solved.

our landlord gave us £80 for a wireless router and connection to ADSL.

my landlord installed sky digital for us and wireless adsl, as it increased the value of the property, most landlords are willing to meet you half way just speak to them, although i still think my landlord is a bit weird, and each time he comes round I have to air out my room of marlboro lights smoke :/
