Re: r28 predictions
meh, seems noone understood my sarcasm.
ofc eXi is not coming back, i doubt that any of the old HC team is willing to put as much effort into PA as we did in the past.
eXi won't play next round nor will eXi play any of the following 10 rounds.
who is putting up these rumours all the time? someone pls enlighten me, i've been away for some rounds.
on topic: i think Asc will win

well predictions are usually wrong, the only thing you can predict every round is the classic "wakey whine thread"

hmm you're just provoking wakey now...lol.
and this round will be interesting anyway with Asc as the automatic #1 contender. you know CT/ND will have the hardest time ever standing up to them with Denial out of the way

Re: r28 predictions
Denial were probably more cooperative last round than CT and ND ever were. If anything, we'll have a harder time this round. Not that it'll matter, obviously.

Asc will without doubt win the round, and there's nothing ND or CT can do to stop them.
Asc is too smart, they'll probably play the "oh, we don't care, we're not even playing" card like they always do and ND/CT will be foolish enough to fall for that like they always do.

I did just say that the lack of help from Denial wouldn't matter to our winning chances. This mistaken "Ascendancy player" stereotype you idiots have in your head really is getting old. Move on.

Re: r28 predictions
why is everyone still talking about nd/ct like they were 1 ally.
maybe ct and nd have to take some of the blame here?
in my oppinion, if CT and ND wants to win, they need to build their ally capable of winning alone and not fencing or naping the universe to add up for their lack of activity.
if they fail at working hard enough to achieve these goals then they should come back stronger next round instead of fooling themselves to believe they are the strongest ally. ND did that a few rounds and had 2 lucky wins (ill get flamed for this) and this will give CT a huge lead on them because ND is not evolving, and they fool themselves to think they are capable of winning.
It looks like CT takes this serious this round so ND will never beat them unless they do a followup with last rounds politics...
pretty much allying and NAPing the universe.
so i want to put CT on top followed by ASC and ND
but i suspect that with CT taking it serious this round and NDs lack of willingness to evolve into a better ally, they will break some ties and fight out a war ending with ND calling 2 other allies to back them up in the fight, leaving ASC on the sideline to win.
so with this i would say
ASC
CT
ND

Re: r28 predictions
CT and ND are mentioned as one because it's expected Ascendancy will be the favorite for round win. As such, it makes sense that the number 2 and 3 work together, and to mention them together in threads such as this one. CT and ND have been known to formed long lasting pacts, notably in the last 2 of the 3 rounds ND won.
I'm not sure why you're talking about "blame", you make it look like they're doing something illegal, which is obviously not the case.
The rest of your post seems utter bollocks as well. ND didn't nap the universe last round and I see no reason why ND would want a fight with CT if it's not very clear they're running away with the round. And even then, many alliances demonstrate irrational loyalty when it comes to naps (NoX, anyone?).

I think the "Ascendancy player" stereotype that I have in my head is fairly accurate though, even if it's old.
My comment was really about the fact that most alliances never believe Ascendancy is a real threat, and when they realise they are a threat they're usually too late.

It isn't really, nor was it ever generally accurate.

Like in r25 where we had 3 alliances including 2 ranked higher than us target us when we were in fifth place and not a threat to win the round even vaguely?

I'm about to spend seven hours vaguely pretending to work. In fact I do so little work I can reply pretty much every few minutes on this forum. So right now, sure.

Looks like you don't spend your day that much different from me then
The Ascendancy stereotype:
The good:
- Ascendancy people are some of the most experienced and capable players in this game.
- Most of the people in ascendancy are pretty intelligent and have a very good knowledge of PA.
- Most of the people in Asc that I've met are actually pretty cool and nice to talk to.
- They are excellent at getting other people to do exactly what they want without those people even noticing they're playing right into asc's hand.
- Alot of their players joined Ascendancy because they wanted to get out of the traditional alliance system. Think NitinA described it once to me (in a negrep ) "Ascendancy is more a group of coöperative solo's"
- I'm just guessing here but I believe there actually is a large community-feeling in Ascendancy.
- Masters at intell
The bad:
- They are excellent at getting other people to do exactly what they want without those people even noticing they're playing right into asc's hand.
- Somehow, alot of these people think when they join Ascendancy that their membership makes them "better" than all the other people that play pa.
- Alot of these people have an overinflated ego and think this game revolves around them and their alliance.
- If they find something they can exploit then they'll do it, no matter what the impact to the game is, not matter how many other people they'll leave angry and frustrated.
There is probably more I could say, but I believe I've covered the basics of what I think about Ascendancy and their players pretty well.
As you can see, I'm not that negative in my view of you guys and I'm glad that there is an Alliance like you around.
Sometimes though you have the ability to really annoy me
Feel free to contradict me where I'm wrong, after all it is your alliance and you should know alot more about it, how it works and the people in it than me, an outsider.

For the last while I've been doing a lot of politics and to be honest my approach is as straightforward as you can get.
I'm trying to remember though. You were in ascendancy for a while, how long was it exactly and what round(s)?

I was in Ascendancy for about 3-400 ticks a couple of rounds back, the round where there was an Ascendancy & Descendancy.
I needed roids, Alki was in Descendancy and had shitloads of roids & no value at all so I 2 waved Alki.
Same day I got "kicked" for being a "CT-spy" although I had 0 relations to CT at all . By "kicked" I mean having my access removed from channels, had to press the 'leave alliance' button myself.
Thought that was a bit hypocrite though, making up a fake reason to kick me when in fact all I had done wrong was roid somebody from (what you claimed on the forums soooo much) another alliance...
Anyway, no harm done. Not like I got a grudge against you guys or anything

We've had some really awesome excuses over the years.
The best analogy there would have been that you roided someone from an allied alliance. I don't really remember the spy thing to be honest (I wasn't that active that round).

Probably the best prediction so far. Asc to win ! well, they deserved r27 even if they didn't get it.

But I thought under the Ascendancy-style alliance everybody was "HC" and did what they decided to do themself, that has been the major selling point for Ascendancy, the total freedom you're supposed to have in the alliance and everybody being equal.
Turned out, for me atleast, that some people in Ascendancy do have more power than others and no thing like total freedom exists.

We like to make up the rules as we go along. It's more efficient that way.
Put it this way it'd be like someone in Ascendancy going and roiding dunkelgraf. He's only been in tag one out of the last 7 or 8 odd rounds but if anyone actually tried roiding him I'd kick them in a heartbeat. I suppose it comes down to the don't be shit clause. One rule subbing in for the hundreds other alliances have at times.

Edit: gonna stop derailing this prediction thread now

That's 2 very good reasons for kicking you right there.

No it isn't cause it doesn't mention us in top 10, doubt that 5th spot is meant for us.

you are a dreamer exblade, as bc of Hidden Agenda for 5 rounds i can say that everytime a big ally approached us was solely out of selfgain.
If they approached us at all during a round.
And even smaller allies have their own agenda, you can't approach a small ally in the final week to help you out when they are battling for their own spot and expect a positive response.
