MySpace
I have been trying for the past couple of weeks to sign-up for a myspace account and I keep being told then there was an error processing my request.
Is anyone else having this problem?

You use your university e-mail address to sign up to it. Since you've graduated, fewer people will probably be on there.
And I added you Dante.

What's wrong with that? It seems fairly interesting (if insanely speculative).

Welcome to the 21st century.
Besides, everyone's on it - it's a good photo host and a great way to meet people you only see in one class a fortnight.

Facebook stalkage. Allows you to find friends of friends etc. For example not only can you discover that two of your friends know each other, but also manage to find 'daves' mate who you got with friday night. Has pictures and stuff as well.
Basically Facebook stalkage helps pass (waste) many hours of 'revision time'.

It looks like one of the best examples I've seen of using lots and lots of jargon and 'theory' to say something completely trivial, all for the sake of churning out academic papers. It doesnt seem quite as bad as some of the stuff I've seen written by sociologists about 'cyberspace', but its not that far off either.
The whole thing reminds me of something management consultants would talk about in order to touch-base with the synergy of their clients, and the pictures look best suited for powerpoint presentations at corporate business meetings. But then hey, maybe I'm biased since I tend to be fairly anti-theory
edit: I'm not just judging on that wikipedia article alone, I'd read something about this a few months ago and forgot about it.
