So I was supposed to be flying to Derry tomorrow. Then hop across the border and visit family in Donegal.
This weekend is quite a big one in the social calender. It is the summer ball. But I told my mum I would go months ago and a promise is a promise. Plus I haven't seen a few members of family for a few years so this might be the last time I see them for a couple and you never know they might die or something.
But I'm a bit knarcked as ryanair are shit and aren't telling me a single thing. I have to wait until lunchtime. Do I go to the airport? Do I hope they put me on another flight? Do I say sod it and go to Kent? Decisions...Decisions.

Quote:
The City of Derry Airport is being shut by the flight regulator until further notice because of safety concerns.
The Civil Aviation Authority decided to provisionally suspend its license following an inspection this week.
Problems found include lack of an effective bird control plan, unsuitable temporary repairs to the area where planes park and poor runway drainage.
The airport advised travellers to contact airlines about flight cancellations and diversions.

I was in a plane once where a bird went through the engine. We were diverted to Paris. There I ate some rotten eggs (the French really are shit) and thus I got the shits for the next 24 hours. When we finally arrived in Madeira I felt so crap I missed 48 hours of my holiday.
So I fully understand the bird bit, although I still think it is a shit reason to shut down the airport.
