Re: Sad things people do at netmeets.
My only time was i10 (I am generally too lazy to do these things)
Overall it all seemed relaxed considering the circumstances, and socialising wise our group did about 95% of the socialising there

Re: Sad things people do at netmeets.
why is that sad? when your friends go to your house, you sit and chat, you drink, you smoke, you play some sort of games anyway (for me its table tennis, then mariokart, then poker).

If the real world was like GD it'd be a much better place I'll tell you that much for free.

Well, lets be perfectly fair here. We were in the middle of nowhere, North Carolina and I don't think most of you were old enough to actually do anything other than "hang out". :P
That said, what was SAD was when we started talking to eachother on IRC. (I found this highly amusing for some reason)

That was more of a 'hey I like this girl, this seems like a pretty good way of detaching from the main group and getting to know her better" thing than it was "hur hur computers are kewl", but woteva.
RE: internet things in real life/netmeets. It seems fairly logical that when a group of people know each other as a result of sharing a common hub of interests and experiences, this hub will play a part in the conversation when they meet up. It almost sounds like you want people to forget everything they know about a person theyve spoken to online, and act like they are just meeting them for the first time, completely unaware of any aspect of their background or personality.

Hey gang!
Remember that time we went down to Cobs' house Mr. Adam?
Remember how everyone went up the road and left me to die at the hands of Mr Cobs' "Cure alcohol poisoning by plying the patient with more drink than he drank to get in this state" method?
I has also forgot about the Buttering up Robert so thanks for the memories, he's a swell guy.

Re: Sad things people do at netmeets.
i21 was infinitely better. No PCs touched, plenty beer drunk, only minor blood loss, plenty CSers ridiculed.

Re: Sad things people do at netmeets.
lol @ picture but i think Sunday has a point here, we are incapable of socialising without using a pc or some form of technology coupled with drinking
I never thought I was part of this group, I always thought i could stay away from a pc for a couple of days with out any withdrawal.
But this is not the case I'm in some hostel in the middle of germany drinkin helles on a pc while all me mates are bollixed. My excuse is so can chat to me bird over irc but i really wanted just to sit behind a pc and use some technology heh
I have lasted 8 days lol
Now back to beer

The best thing about playing counterstrike was you and robert screaming 'he hacks' in that reeves & Mortimer end sketch show voice (the really high pitched one) for about an hour until cobs was ready to rip both of your heads off.
Also with regards to the cobs meet, brief summary.
Me not sleeping for 28 hours before getting on bus.
Me assuming I could sleep on the 8 hour bus ride down during the twilight run (I was wrong)
Cobs feeding me can after can of stella until we headed out to a pub to wait on you arriving.
Me having had about 40 hours without sleep and too much beer for my weakened state when you arrived.
Me not remembering anything for the next few hours cept falling sideways and smacking my temple off the side of a table someone was sitting at.
Me then ending up in a taxi outside cobs's house (dunno what happened inbetween)
Me getting dragged up the path by cobs's wife, who's in a wheelchair disabled from the waist down.
Me waking up when you all got home and having some of his death hot curry
me waking up the next day, seeing you dying with a bucket beside you, me then having the most painful shit in my entire life thanks to the curry.
Me getting told I'm barred from some pub in kent
Us spending the rest of the meet sober-ish playing starcraft.
Everyone but you heading home at the end of the weekend, I think you stayed there for a week didn't yah?
