Cook a meal for them and watch a video/DVD at home. Admittedly you need to get the ingredients from somewhere but bleh.

Otherwise, there are plenty of free galleries, events, museums, etc in London. Google for "Free London" or something like that. Alternatively, find somewhere nice and picturesque and go for a walk (bit cold though).

Or, get a loan of some sort.

Take him/her on a "tour" of places that mean a lot to you due to various interesting and heart wrenching experiences from your childhood - just make them up if you don't have any, and don't forget to shed a tear when you get to the place where "I saw my mother for the final time before she left me on the doorstep of the orphanage in a basket with just a note saying 'please take care of my darling INSERT NAME' and all I have left of her is this locket which contains the only picture of her i have."

(Thought it would be a nice thing to do one lunch time when I was at the Old Bailey, but oh no, I had to look at the inside from a corner behind the ticket barrier and spend the rest of my time admiring the thrilling architecture of Paternoster Square.)
