Re: Are there any RP'ers in England?
it's not as if we are directly insulting each other, Darkling, we're doing the usual, same-old-same-old random Roleplayer's insanity talk. It is civil... in a mundane RP way

if you look up on the matter, there was no racism, more like agism (geriatrics are not a whole new race, they're old peeps whom are a little... lost in the mind).

Though it does not fully fall udner the word racism agiesm is still a form prejudice. So then I am well within my rights to bring in clause 7 due to this fact. It is not tha those who are rather adavanced in years s,mmell of urine, I kow of a number of inderviduals past the age of 50, 60 and 70 etc that are still quite active and not invalid my grandparents included in that. Plus I can also bring into act clause 1 Moderators discretion.

i must say i didn't notice any "no-drinking" rule last time. Although the prevalence of Irn-Bru floats *was* disturbing.

Re: Are there any RP'ers in England?
Poor Zappa.
Poor poor, or remarkably lucky Zappa.
Yes, the only person drinking was Alec, and he was anti social for the whole time...
But, I can ask about the drinking, it's just that the point being many people drunk, is harder to get back onto trains than many people sober. Only marginally mind you.
Oh, and apparently, I have to think of the neighbours.
*turns up the music*
Edit: Expect a BBQ thread soon then

I'd suggest drinking be allowed, but as it should be, even in bars, no booze for the drunk. if you like alcohol, drink it, but don't drink to get drunk. use your brains, even if they have been wasted by lack of good RPing in these hard times :P

Bah, who needs self control. I doubt we'd be getting too many geek fist fights ("That die was cocked!" "You still don't get a re-roll!" *BLAM*), and if we did i'm sure that there'd be enough people to kick out and keep out anyone in a bad way. People who would have to catch trains would just have to stay sober bwahahaha!

Heiro, are you sure alcohol is wise? There was enough damage or lost things and craziness without ppl being a little buzzed let alone drunk.
Ah well, no way i'm making it this year and if there is alcohol (besides Alec), no way i would even make the effort.

Re: Are there any RP'ers in England?
Erm, geriatric counts as not being old, but of being at a certain disability to be senial. No, I am not taking out to be a senialist, because my great grandad, may he rest in peace, was senial. Yet, despite condition or age, no matter how much he washed and such, he still smelled of urine. Geriatric does NOT count for active old people, for that does not mean they are geriatric. Geriatrics, as a real and proper way of describing them, means when someone is at a stage of age (ie, 80, 90, 100, etc) that they become either senial or incontrolable about pissing themselves, or are in need for other people to help them (ie, walking, eating, playing games, etc).
Much like what we know Czar to be

Darkling: could you then give a warning to your gf also? her prejudice about alcohol is highly disturbing. it's not like all people that, even if but occasionaly, ever touch alcohol are violent rapists and morons. I myself am offended, and not only by her words, but also by the fact that you are so strickt when it comes to a joke where even the "victim" made clear he does not mind, but you couldn't care less, and even ignore the real prejudiced posts, where more than 50% of the global population is victimised and compared to animals simply because they are capable of appreciating a beverage

Re: Are there any RP'ers in England?
yeesh DJ, it usually takes a good 5 beers to get anyone even slightly tipsy, another five for them to get drunk. And even by that stage they cannot fit much more in their stomach due to the amount of carbonate gas within the said baverage bloating up the stomach (one form of a drunk's sick patterns).
Not every alcohol drinker drinks an alcoholic beverage in the aim to get drunk. I drink alcohol to calm my nerves a little after a hard day of work, or to help my mind relax in the aim to talk to people better without my confidence levels dropping.
However, when I am drunk I do NOT turn into any problematic source, I sit down, I talk a lot (although most of it is mumbled) but I do not yell, I do not butt in and I do not elevate myself to a point that I'd be embarrassed afterwards.
Besides, who would drink more than is neccessary knowing that they would have to either return home in that same state or return home with a mass hangover? I know I wouldn't

there's a big difference between ABuse and use. The sooner people learn this, the less problems there'll be. I like a good glass of wine now and then, or a whisky, a shot of tequilla, or a good fresh Rodenbach when sitting on a terras, enjoying the sun and good compagny. I do not drink untill I puke all over the place, harras the females, or pick fights. I've been drunk once in my life so far, on my 18th birthday, and all I did was distance myself, and meditate to fight the nausea. But you're right DJ, I dare touch alcohol, I should be shot. I do not deserve to live. What's worse: I smoke! omg! I'm the embodyment of evil! pick up your pitchforks and chase me down the streets! capture me and put me on the stake!

Re: Are there any RP'ers in England?
lets see...
I drink alcohol
I smoke cigerettes and occasionally (very rarely), cigars
I eat fatty foods over healthy rate
I am an ex-smoker of marajuana (After 7 shotguns and going pale, with blue lips... your stomach would develop a hate for the stuff. One toke nowheredays makes me feel ill)
If my mind was running at a steriotypical veiw then I'd be the devil himself, come down to smite the unsmitten.

Re: Are there any RP'ers in England?
Well, all this opinion and none of it moderated. Wow.
Yeah, Acid is right, it does take alot to get people drunk enough they become a problem. And if people take zappas advice it'd be fine. Sensible though he is. (how I'm applauded to hear it )
Still. As for DJ not coming to a bbq with beer, then that is her choice. As is to talk about being sober on a permanent basis. Fair play to her, really. Still doesn't mean the BBQ can't have drinks. My dad is pretty liberal, Ill ask sometime And yes, for the record, I do drink, but not huge amounts. Although more recently than before.
Shame really.

Re: Are there any RP'ers in England?
I am 19, I have been drinking since the age of 16 (obvioucly in private home area so it is legal). Over a period of 3 years experience in being a heavy weight drinker (ie, it is v. expensive to get me drunk) I have grown out of wanting to be drunk and simply drinking because I like alcoholic beverages and sometimes halucigenic after effects (Imported Spanish Absynth).
Beleive it or not, drinking alcohol is actually healthy until you reach a problomatic stage, same as smoking marajuana (which is a very effective counter-act against extremely serious bone problems, such as my little sister's arthuritus to which she needs a hip replacement). As said before, marajuana is only a very dangerous thing when you take too much (ie, get stoned nearly every day) as it can cause skitzofrenia. However, a very well-known fact in the UK and the USA is that there are less drug abusers (3% of all drug users UK) than there are alcohol abusers (38% of all alcohol drinkers).
Funny thing is, we can talk about this and get warned yet people connected to the moderator show their systematic veiws and don't get warned. Funny, eh?

Re: Are there any RP'ers in England?
On this, I agree. Funny ol' world.
I've just started drinking, obviously in my own home... but occasionally at the pub. Still, I can't say I've ever gotten drunk-to-the-point-of-throwing-up-and-making-a-mess drunk. And I'm not sure I want to. Still. Thank god for free choice.

Re: Are there any RP'ers in England?
My 2 cents.
I had the occasional drinks before I turned 21. Now that I'm 21, I enjoy a few drinks after a long week here and there. Last night in fact, me and my roommate threw back some shots of tequila and hard lemonade (all that was around, we were to lazy to go out), and what did we do while buzzed? Sat down, watched a movie while playing a game of cribbage. So really, alocohol is not evil in itself, it's only what the person does when they use it. And FYI: I have been drunk, very drunk to the point of passing out, but never to the "point where I go pray to the porcelien god for relief.".

Re: Are there any RP'ers in England?
Heh, i live in a village so getting drunk with thugs is really the only form of legal (or nearly legal) entertainment. I've seen people batter three colours out of each other and then forget that they were even fighting, but still, booze can only really be considered bad if the person drinking has the inclination to be a problem already.
Although, to be fair, i do agree that having a house full of drunken geeks trying to remember where they need to go to get home might be ever so slightly inconvenient. Enjoy in moderation lol.

Re: Are there any RP'ers in England?
drinking is fun. Most people like the taste of beverages (I myself prefer the taste of port, guinness and a few bitters to any soft drinks, with the exeption mabie of cofee), so what's wrong with that?
being english i started drinking quite young (mabie a bit before 14), and am 16 now, its a funny world where i've had more enjoyable experiences within those 2yrs than someone mabie as much as 10yrs older than me hasn't even tried what i believe to be the major factor in that enjoyment. crazy non drinker's, i'll never understand them .

Heya Anarcharnate .
I should be there, barring accidents of scheduling (as occured with the first one. Curse you Heiro!). And if AcidK turns up I shall make him pay for that comment about my back yard.
Oh and cheer Bakan on for playing Crib. \o/
