Flapjack:, did you forget the read the part where you have average intelligence even as a barbarian half orc?
Eek: if you plan to actually look at the boards at least every few days, then yes, you can join. Just give me your normal character descriptions so i have someting to work with.

Re: Sci-Fi / Fantasy RPer Challenge
okay, i'll be more intellegent that this, but even so, I'm still the stupidest character around, so i'll just act generally stupid.
If it moves, bash it with a heavy blunt object. If it doesn't move, bash it with said object anyways
What use is lockpicking a door, when you can just bash it with a heavy blunt object?
subtility is definately not a good thing for me

*makes sure to use a reinforced iron door so flapjack just can't smash* and remember you do have partners. Also you get points for character development so you can't just "me smash".

not exactly as if you'd notice.
and reinforced steel doors can be bashed, it just takes a lot of bashing with a really strong heavy object and preferably several big strong people.
but i'll make a deal with you, make steel reinforced doors with lousy locks so they can be lockpicked and make uberlocks with wooden doors so they can be bashed, ok?
and in combat, i don't intend to just do things like me bash, it'll be more like me swings big heavy blunt object towards enemy in an attempt to start a good game of bashing, ok??
oh and i was wondering, how long do you think untill this starts??

Re: Sci-Fi / Fantasy RPer Challenge
i'll have to see. I have to create eek's character now too and assign names (yes i'm assigning names). Still haven't thought out the plot exactly, but if you're willing to let it go on the fly since there are so many interacting sides i should be able to get it up by monday latest.

Re: Sci-Fi / Fantasy RPer Challenge
Hi all, okay i've got eek's character done and i'll be posting your character names soon after. I've had a little trouble figuring out how to start this, least the fantasy side and give you something to do. This thread will be a lot of improvising. I will DM when needed but with so many people on each side there should be plenty of challenge and interaction.
Fantasy: seeking the crystal
Name: Eek
Age: 32
Race: half-elf
Role: mage
Appearance: elven appearance, shorter about 5'4", black cloak, hood usually up to hide his elven features
Personality: Resentful of his mixed heritage, depising of others, looks out for himself
Abilities: Evocation and dabbling in necromancy
Weapons and pocessions: mage staff, couple plain daggars, sack for scrolls
History: Born and raised by an elven father and human mother. They lived as outsiders wherever they went, becoming more nomads than having a home. Trained in the art of magic by his father, Eek grew to be a great mage, however there was always a lingering of hatred toward his parents.
Leaving his parents as an adolescence, he has tried to fit in best he could, but the elves could sense he was only half and many humans just avoided him for his elf side. Hating who he is, never quite belonging anywhere he focused his arts toward the less noble occupations.
On his jouney, he heard of the powerful crystal. Seeking it now, he hopes it has the supreme power he has heard about. He plans to use it to subjagate if not destroy those who sneered at him.

Re: Sci-Fi / Fantasy RPer Challenge
Sorry Eek, but that's the point of the challenge. You never play magic so you get it. As for the names, anyways you wish and you can just go by Elek (pronounced E leck).

Re: Sci-Fi / Fantasy RPer Challenge
Fantasy Type Me #1:
Name: Razael Gokan
Race: Human
Age: 17-29
Appearance: Slightly above average height, medium build, with dark shoulder-blade length mousey brown hair usually tied back or braided. Purplish Blue Eyes.
Weapons: Magic. Staff.
Armour: Magic
History: Usually something about his parents being killed by monsters while he was a child. Indications of great power, possible demonic possession.
Fantasy Type Me #2:
Name: Gokan
Race: Elvish/Half-Elf/Elf-like Human
Age: 22-180
Appearance: Lightly built, Blond or Red Hair, medium height.
Weapons: Unarmed/Twin Short-Sword (something light and fast)
Armour: Usually minimalistic, relying on skill and speed.
History: Varies. Usually fairly idyllic childhood. Interrupted at about 18 (or elven equivalent) by some personally cataclysmic event.
Sci-Fi Me:
Name: James Razael Gokan
Race: Human
Age: 21-34
Appearance: Medium height, fairly muscular build.
Weapons: Energy Swords, Psychic powers, Explosives, Computers/Electronics.
Armour: Baggy Jeans and Oversized T-Shirt, Often a Trenchcoat (Dark Brown, almost never black - Too cliche now).
History: Varies depending on thread. Older chars tend to be ex-army demo experts. Younger characters usually the ones with the Psychic powers. Occasional Hacker types.
Almost invariably I prefer speedy agile types over hulking "Was that supposed to hurt types."
Dislikes: Orcs, Cross-gender roleplaying.
Detests: Playing stupid people.

Fluffie, the reason for the same letter is to ease confusion for me and everyone else. there are 14 ppl in this.
And i'm working on the thread, just had a bad weekend.

Re: Sci-Fi / Fantasy RPer Challenge
Side: Sci-fi seeking the crystal
Name: Slaidonar (Spritely Zombie)
Age: 32
Race: Human
Role: Hired Fighter
Appearance: tall, muscular, short silverish hair
Personality: elusive, charismatic
Abilites: ambidexterous, excellent fighter
Weapons and Pocessions: Full armor (appears as metallic cloth but is woven metal fibers sorta like a futuristic chainmail, but as good as full plate), morningstar that looks like a mace, chain inside the handle which is realeased with a secret button, small war hammer with electric charges
History:
Born to a family on a distant colony that many have forgotten about. It was established as a source of more goods, however it's distance from Myopian and the not so fertile soil made most disregard it. However many stay to make a new life. His parents were farmers of course, as were all on the colony. His father competed in tournaments on the colony and a few distant ones to bring
Growing up, he often accompanied his father to these matches. He was fascinated and soon became his father's sparring partner. Eventually Slaidonar's fighting abilites surpassed his fathers.
He followed in his father's footsteps as a fighter, but years as a farmer turned him off it. Leaving his home he travelled from planet to planet, competing in many tounaments, eventually making quite a name for himself. With this name came many job offered and he became a hired fighter in his spare time. His legend spread quickly, and he was seen by the rebels who hired him to go back with them to get the crystal.

Re: Sci-Fi / Fantasy RPer Challenge
As i mentioned in the pirate thread I've got a full time job so time has been cut a bit. I was training until today, so thinking outside of work wasn't easy.
If there is still interest for this thread I should be able to get it going on monday or tuesday (my days off next week). After the first page you shouldn't need too much DMing

Re: Sci-Fi / Fantasy RPer Challenge
Hmm..i'm interested, if it isn't too late to get involved in this. My characters I usually try to make 28 at the minimum. Almost always human, and i try not to make them uber powerful. No master swordsman or expert at such and such. Always female. Don't usually use magic, and if I do its usually just beginner stuff. Fighter type characters but never very good. Alligned to order often. Affinity with earth almost always.
All I can think of at the moment, count me in though =)

Re: Sci-Fi / Fantasy RPer Challenge
I'm waiting for response from the oldies i already created chars for. If i don't get any response at all, i might as well forget about this thread.
Rhyspar, how about posting in GoD. You are in the village, you know other ppl, jump in. I'm not going to spend my time creating a char for you for this thread if you can't react without explicit DMing. Also sorry, but creating last minute joiner chars is what got me so behind on creating the thread itself so i'm not going to jump at making another. I'll see how others react first then decide though.

Re: Sci-Fi / Fantasy RPer Challenge
okay okay, i know you guys are anxious, i just didn't realize how much a 40 hour work week takes out of you (especially dealing with EXTREMELY irritating customers). I'm trying to get to work on this but everytime i start, soemthing goes wrong. I'll try to get it up eventually though. It's tough trying to figure out how to start things with your characters, especially the fantasy side as the sci-fi needs a little devolpment in the future first.
