It looks like it would roll over if anything approaching a fart was directed at it.

I was like "well i'm quite well off for a student, so I can cope with up to £100 for something cool".
I don't think I can bid
It so has to be an American winner, you couldn't drive it in the UK...

it reminds of a boat down in Ft Lauderdale that was converted from Howard Hughes's Plane.

I think the Prince of Brunei has the longest normal limo (35m IIRC), plus a variety of "shorter" ones - up to 20M.
Evidently he closes of all the roads of the island whenever he and his brothers want to go for a ride with his little toys.
And people says tyranny is without it's charms.

Re: Something for the rich guys
Lets see
4 pieces of feedback in nearly a year
previous sales include ... A purse and a mobile phone accessory
Suddenly has a million quid planecar, and says any bidders are to Deposit $25,000 via an unnamed Escrow site so as to "avoid non paying bidders"
I have to ask, is ANYONE actually stupid enough to bid on this, considering the volume of fake Escrow sites out there?

We should sell Flavius on E-bay.
Doubt we'd get much though

That thing is just tacky, and the inside materials look cheap and gaudy. Leapord skin framed mirrors on the ceiling, ya, I can see the fortune 500 CEO's just jumping all over this one.

I don't think that's the way to get rid of him:

"It is sweet/good and proper(?) for your father to die", er. "to die for your fathers". that makes more sence.
Don't think I've heard that before.
And I'm fully aware I don't speak Latin....

The funny thing is that I write better English than you most of the time.
And I'm awaiting the list with great anticipation. Last time we spoke you didn't want to make one, I'm glad you changed your mind.

It might make still more sense if you translate patria as country (lit. fatherland).

Re: Something for the rich guys
Pericles funeral oration is a grand thing Yahwe, although I agree it may not look so lofty after reading Wilson Owen (I know you like poetry).
Some other great parts of some of his speeches (I wish I could quote them in their entirety):
Quote:
Yet you must remember that you are citizens of a great city and that you were brought up in a way of life suited to her greatness; you must therefore be willing to face the greatest disasters and be determined never to sacrifice the glory that is yours. We look with distaste on people who arrogantly pretend to a reputation to which they are not entitled; but equally to be condemned are those who, through lack of moral fibre, fail to live up to the reputation which is theirs already.
|
Also:
Quote:
And when the chances on both sides are equal, it is intelligence that confirms courage - the intelligence that makes one able to look down on one's opponent, and which proceeds not by hoping for the best (a method only valuable in desperate situations), but by estimating what the facts are, and thus obtaining a clearer vision of what to expect.

I prefered the $30million 727 before it became a $980,000 piece of junk.

To answer 'no' doesn't come even remotely close do describing just how un-catholic I am.
I just happen to know a few phrases and words that I picked up here and there. I know even fewer basic rules of grammar. Plus I had a History professor who spoke quite good Latin (or so he claimed), and I got some gloses from him aswell.

That's better than me, I don't know any latin. I can look at some of the words and guess their meaning like decorum for instance.

Gaelic is possibly the most bizarre language on earth if you discount welsh (which , i accept, is technically a form of Gaelic)

I'm intrigued with this baceratolueytakomatson, any possible sources I might be able to lookup?
