Vim config query

I'm using gvim to do all my c++ editing for uni (makes sense considering that's what we use in the labs...)
Anyways, is there a
set <blah> = <something>
equivilant I can use in .gvimrc which is the same as gvim -y?
I looked through the gvim help file which lists all the options, but I couldn't find it. This may be because it's not there, or possibly because it's 1am and I missed it.

I'm pretty certain there must be a way to do it - there seems to be options for everthing else.

Ta.
