Hello GD
Good evening ladies and gentlemen. It's been a long time. Some of you may be thinking not long enough. Others will be wondering who the hell I am. For the latter, get out of my thread now and don't come back. Your sort aren't welcome around here.
For the rest, a brief history of my life since I stopped posting here:
1. I fell deeply in lust with a gorgeous girl who is way hotter than I am, and to be perfectly honest must be mad to want to share oxygen with me.
That's about it really. Oh, and I passed the year at uni (Biology at Birmingham if anyone cares) Barely, but I wouldn't have it any other way. There are more important things to university life than studying, and if you buy them drinks, they will sleep with you. Try it.
To those of you who wondered why I just disappeared; I actually quit as a moderator some time ago, but was left on the moderator list as a scarecrow and/or until JJ remembered to remove me. I never bothered with a leaving thread because I didn't need an ego massage, but in retrospect it might have stopped certain people from spreading malicious rumours about my death and subsequent decomposition.
That's all I can think of to say right now. In the remainder of this thread I will answer your questions on the areas of microbiology and genetics.
Good day.

I heard there was a pest problem that needed immediate attention.
Also, I have reported this thread to the moderators to find out who they are these days, since I can't seem to find a list.

I wonder if that option works on the new forums...
It's written right at the bottom right of the thread listing on the forum (except SS who quit about 2 weeks ago).

I'm not sure. I'll check back and see if anything interesting is happening periodically. On the other hand, GD looks about the same as I left it, so maybe not that often.

Is the TATA-box conserved in the archaea?
(apologies for typos, 8 pints o' guiness + a few units of misc. will do that to one who is out of practice.)

Speak for yourself--I've already procreated.
Although I don't expect to be making any additional contributions to the gene pool so, in that sense, I may have something in common with the general GD population after all.
