Active desktop - Links won't open on Opera

I just reinstalled Windows, and I put my active desktop with my fav links on as background again. However, it refuses to open these links in Opera when clicked. It opens them all in IE.
I know this should work. I did this with my previous Windows installation, but I forgot how. Opera is my default browser, URL filetypes are all linked to Opera. What am I missing?

Arrow Re: Active desktop - Links won't open on Opera

Maybe it's because Active Desktop is essentially an IE window (sort of)?
But you say it already worked before, so: Maybe check IE options, advanced, uncheck something like "open new links in same window". It forces IE to open a new window, which might as well be the defaul browser's, if you're lucky.

Hmmm. Anything else? Opera reinstall AFTER having set the active desktop?

Re: Active desktop - Links won't open on Opera

I don't know what exactly I did, but it seemed to have worked.
I reïnstalled Opera as you said, fiddled a bit with file bindings and rebooted out of frustration, and now it works.
