Your top 5 PA momments

I thought I would put up a thread asking current players and old veterans of PA about their top planetarion momments.

you can put them in order... or randomise etc.
Tell a bit about the story behind it etc.

get the ball rolling...

1. Giving a special thanks in the r42 EORC to my girlfriend at the time for not closing my planet (she was really close to doing it)
2. the exiliation mastercard spoofs (priceless) of 1up's cruisie. (the laughs were so epic and if anyone has the pictures can they put them up plz)
3. Wishmaster getting closed for his gal banner of a group of disabled kids watching a porno.
4. kenny's (either NFI or Omega) hilters downfall spoof of DZ youtube video. (can it please be put up if it is still on youtube without being banned?)
5. Personally Organising the successful fleetcatch of Cardinal in R40

honourable mention.... consist munkee being banned for selling teh ASC tag on ebay then posting on forums and lokken banning him for advertising.

Re: Your top 5 PA momments

1. FINALLY HOME AGAIN - Reforming p3nguins with munkee (glad your back) and willzz aka assassin (glad we got to settle our "issues") in Round57. Certainly playing in an environment you can call a home is worth more then any rankings are.
2. 2ND VICTORY FOR P3NGUINS - Winning Tag 2nd time in a row with p3nguins in Round59. Credits to everyone contributing. Was fun and well earned from my perspective.
3. SOMONE MADE ME WIN - Winning Planet in Round42 when Forest first claimed to MH i had cheated, then claimed he made me win. Real credits to p3nguins (rank 1 and rank 2 for m0 and plaguuu (where are you?); 5 planets in top10). Also credits to apprime and cardinal who must have decided i am the least bashworthy planet up there.
4. NUB BASHING - Forming THE HORDE in r38 with 3 other "veterans" (greenie, cr0 and korsan) - a nub-training alliance for the very unexperienced. Then for the honorable moment the mighty Ascendancy declaring war on us! Fun to see some nubs from back then are still playing and are now "veterans" themselves. All Goals achieved
5. CLOSE TO VICTORY - -=KillerBeans=- (26:7) coming 2nd in Round6 with our GC (drivo) beeing 3rd in planetranks. First Round for me to be playing serious (and the last for a while). Credits to Deus Ex Machina and drivo (awesome ingal dcing). Was fun for all i remember.

Also credits to Vengeance for having me on my Return in Round26 (quit after 10.5). Met some nice ppl there. (Hi greenie, cr0, Amnion...)
You made me get infected again.

Re: Your top 5 PA momments

2 Gal Wins - Easily the best two rounds of PA I've had was back when we trialed public galaxies. I was GC of both winning back to back with something like 20 planets in a galaxy. It was a great way of meeting new people and also broke up the monotonous fort gal wins which seemed to keep happening. It was like running a micro ally and it was really quite social too.

2 Ally Wins - First round of p3nguins we came second and after seeing the effort we had to put into that race when apprime was also a new starter it was good to keep the ally running for a number of rounds whilst focusing on building a core and gaining great planet ranks. Deciding we had the right people to go for the win and then successfully doing it twice in a row was fun. The third attempt was always a bit tongue in cheek as we knew we were burnt out and I did provoke as much as possible the other allies to get their acts together.

Telegram Bot - Moving away from purely being an IRC alliance has kept a lot of people playing this game who have said they would have quit without another option. I've spent a lot of hours working on our telegram bot which has some great features. This is now starting to be picked up in other forms in different allies which shows how the world is moving towards messengers being one of the best forms of remote communication. Im looking forward to see how far people can push this technology and also whether planetarion itself starts to adopt newer tech to keep itself running.

p3nguins - In general I'd say setting up an alliance has been great fun if anyone is considering it. It certainly changes the way you play planetarion and something you undoubtedly will never forget. I know there are lots of comments that "its all the same people" and of course it is there are some who want to make that change and others who do not. It would be great to see some fresh faces but I guess running alliances isnt for everyone.

Number 5 is on hold as there are a number I could select so I'm going to wait and see if its mentioned by other people first.

Re: Your top 5 PA momments

1. Having Agar3s use up all the anti CR/BS fleets in ult to cover a fake lol wave on his planet R49.
2. Scanning all of Clouds bot planets the tick after i reported them, and seeing all 20 of them being closed.
3. Seeing Connovar emorage when everybody accused TheFallen of cheating, and self exiling out of the gal.
4. When i finaly found someone with a splashplastic card to pay my account R5 after the introduciton to pay 2 play.
5. When we thought we were close to managing getting Apostle into #1 and Pigman gets his entire BS fleet stole by TheMan R63

Re: Your top 5 PA momments

1. Round 42: Amazing P3nguin round where we had loads of fun, sneaked up the ranks and loads top ranked players. Personal rank that round #18
2. Round 47: Me and Kayil flagshipped Ronin (CT) to the planetwin. I remember that our ingal massive Xan fleets where crucial!
3. Round 49: First ally win, played in Sexy Pirates. All i remember is Irvine's number on my phone screen during nights
4. Round 55: Ally win with Faceless, and it was so damn good beating Spore last tick.
5. GREMLIN SODA: The most Epic attack ever in PA history, and yes my fleets where there!

Honourable mention:

Played 11 rounds with Faceless and 9 with P3nguins, tnx for the good times

My implementation sadly is not compaible with WA (It could of course). I noticed rainbows have been looking at the starting points of implementing irc chan --> whats app and vice versa. This is a good starting point:
https://github.com/liam-wiltshire/merlin

Everyone will implement differently. Personally I believe whatsapp is one of the less flexible messenger clients to work with. Telegram and Slack are right up there for integrations but there's many others.

Re: Your top 5 PA momments

Battle at Sid's planet, last day of r3. Possibly the biggest fight in PA history.

Setting up a raid on the top planet r4, who was blatantly farming and no one was doing anything about it. We did, he was closed after we roided him for 12 odd ticks.

Sending "Red Defense" to Rob r10.5 I think, when Wishy and co were roiding him...I ruined the cap, stole the bulk of it, and finished t100 the only time in all these rounds I've "played".

1up. Stumbled through a lot of late nights DC'ing, ran an awesome BG. Watched Zhil DC'ing some stuff was hilarious.

DARKNIGHT!!!!one

Re: Your top 5 PA momments

Round 5 Revolt, altough pointless and a failure, I think this was the first real thing in this game that had me 'glued to irc'.

Round 6, Dragons and the 1337 Defence at Jurgen.

Visiting Finland and a bunch of the Dragons with a Dutchy I only knew from irc (Rob-), and a bunch of pa players visiting me over the years.

The anticipation in the final days where your ally/gal/planet is in the run for a win but the outcome isn't certain (2nd round in p3n, numerous rounds in ult etc)

Working on merlin several years ago. Comming back after a bunch of rounds and noticing some features you implemented are actually still being used.
