[chilled rock] Yet another GD music thread
I define this as tracks by people such as the Goo Goo Dolls and Counting Crows.
Can anyone suggest some similar groups/artists?
Thanks.

I went to a Counting Crows gig once because i was very drunk.
Unfortunately i wasn't drunk enough to forget the experience.
On that day i lost at the game of life.

Hmm, I would never consider going to one of their gigs.
I just use this sort of stuff as pleasent, onubtrusive background music while I'm working, as I'm one of those people who always has to have something on be it my own music collection, the radio or TV.
I've even put my hi-fi speakers in the drawers under my bed so I can listen to music quietly in bed. It's ace, it comes through the pillow

all bands mentioned on this post (and this thread as a whole) are mostly bearing the genre of alternative rock - any subdivisions of alternative like pop/mainstream-rock/pop-rock/pop-alternative/chilled-rock/etc are, in my opinion, quite silly because they consist of very similar and identical beats, ideas, lyrics and melodies
although some genres have to be subdivided - like punk subdivided to punk rock/pop punk/punk alternative/etc or ska subdivided to ska/ska-punk/reggae/etc, metal into heavy metal/speed metal/progressive/goth metal/nu metal/grunge/etc, jazz/blues to blues/acid jazz/funk/jazz/etc - and the more broader groups of rock into hard rock/classic rock/rock and roll/etc - etc - etc
-anyway, duncan sheik, cake, gin blossoms, collective soul, and black crowes are kinda chilled

I endorse this suggestion.
Although not all of their songs. But most of their first three albums. Souljacker has a few "stressed" songs on it.
