I didn't know they were making one.
It won't be any good if they are, the last couple of series were crao cos they had too much money.

Its been in the pipeline for a while, but apparently there was trouble getting the actors. I've heard they have the original cast (I bloody well hope so). If its anything like the new series' it'll probably be crap

Red Dwarf Movie Ready For Take-Off
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Filming is finally poised to start on the Red Dwarf movie.
The project has been stuck in pre-production for 18 months because of problems raising the £10million budget.
"Getting the money has caused the long delay but we are almost there."
But co-creator Doug Naylor says he's expecting to start filming this summer, and hopes the film will hit cinemas by Easter 2004.
He told Teletext: 'Getting the money has caused the long delay but we are almost there. It looks very, very good.'
However, Naylor refused to be drawn on the plot, saying only: 'It will involve a red spaceship.'

That depends on whether its new RD antics or just a transcript of "Infinity welcomes careful drivers", as was originally planned

its been in the pipe line for a ****in eternity
ive been checking up on the website every now and then since there was even a word of the film. the casts for people like kryten and some of the scripts have been written for a good year or more now. one of the original problems with making it was craig charles getting arrested or something, and then he also has his robot wars contract, so he hasnt been free at all. Danny John Jules was busy with Blade 2 and Robert Llewllen (spelling) with that scrapheap challenge programme. not too sure about Chris Barrie, i know he was doing something... but more or less it was a case of getting them all together at the same time, which hasnt previously been possible.
im glad its getting off the ground now though, been a long enough wait. and yeah i agree, the last couple of series had too much money, the best bits about the original stuff was its tackyness, and the way things were put together/done... it went very well, but its too 'futuristic' for itself now...
except the scutters kicked ass in Series VIII (not as much as when they play acted westerns in early shows though )

I know Rimmer (I cant remember his real name) has been working on the Tomb Raider fliks. So that would explain his wherabouts.

I remember reading a synopsis somewhere on the red dwarf site a few months ago, although there's no sign of it now. It didn't say much, just that they encounter the race man has evolved into over 3million years - cyborgs called Homo Sapenoids who try to kill any humans they find.
Of course I could have hallucinated it.
Edit: Seems I'm not. - The only result for 'Homo Sapenoids' on google

Well that link kinda made it seem like they were all that was left after the human race died out, not being pedantic just it sounds quite like 'The Last Human' (Red Dwarf Book)

Not to be Confused With: There was a 1999 French film called Red Dwarf, that had nothing to do with the BBC TV series. Oddly enough, it was just about a tiny person of reddish hue.
