Re: Um
I mean, I see this message suggesting that Karmulian can't find his arse with both hands.
How totally unfair especially as we all remember how he sorted out the someone else logging in problem with the old forum with such gusto
Oh, wait a minute.......

Re: Um
no one tells me what's going on anymore
JJ got sacked apparently at some stage
Someone used JJ's account to mess with forums
Ask Karm, i'm sure as an adept* admin and community member he will keep us informed.
*no, not inept, honest

i dunno, that's the impression i got from what karm said. i could be wrong
[22:21] <idimmu> so what, is jj going to get removed now?
[22:21] <Karmulian> idi he already has been
[22:21] <RR|Away> jj hacked the forums ?
[22:21] <Karmulian> as i was about to state RR - hacking is incorrect
[22:22] <Karmulian> whatever happened it was simply by someone knowing JJ's password
Maybe out of context and i might have missed something but....

Re: Um
The job of actually sacking JJ is not mine - if indeed it happens
however is is not currently an administrator on these forums
The problems that occured were cause by JJ's account
Vaio for your info - I was also the person that fixed the bug as soon as i saw how wide spread it was ( and given 5 minutes when i wasn't at work)

Re: Um
and then didn't bother to apologise to those affected
I realise we are lowly plebs compared to your supreme amazingness but if you let us know what is going on you will find we can be a bit more appreciative of your efforts

Re: Um
um - no
the problem was caused by a conflict in user ID's on on the passport
the passport was creating login sessions for developement forums
it created the session variables and registered a userID
if the user that just logged in were to visit these forums their userID was not changing and so they were logged in as an incorrect user
the simple fix to this was to change the cookie path on the dev forums and passport - therefore these forums no longer read the passport cookies
