Intelligence.
Is there any point of having it unless you can make it create happiness for you?

Re: Intelligence.
only if you actually do something with any gift it is of any use, otherwise it is just a burden that people use to force you to do stuff you do not want to do because you 'can'.

Are you saying it's better to be dumb and happy?
One of the guarnateed joys in my life is that i'll never have to work at McDonalds or have a child named something along the lines of Mary-Cassiddy-Mercedes-Golf-Kappa.

provided they are happy and they dont decrease the happyness of those around them, thus not lowering the happy medium constant of the world, then its fine

happiness is just a matter of setting goals, not being happy is 90% of the time because you are ****ing up yourself.

Re: Intelligence.
The point is that being utterly ignorant can create conditions which are extremely difficult, if not impossible, to tell apart from a state of aware happiness. Of course if you're utterly ignorant you're dead so the question really boils down to is being alive better than being dead, which of course is purely a matter of personal preference depending on circumstances.

Doesnt that depend on your idea of happiness?
In my particular circumstance i used my intelligence to achieve my level of happiness, be it via financial investments or my relationship with my fiance.
Intelligence is as important as you want it to be.

no, thats a lack of testicular fortitude that causes people to "force" you to do anything. or maybe you're not as smart as you allow your friends to make you seem.

You've been programmed man; happiness is not about just setting/achieving goals. There is so much more to it. I hope you get to experience what I'm talking about some day. And you can be ****ing up and still be happy... so long as you are content with what you're doing.

contentment has been abhorrently, so carelessly been mistaken as synonymous to happiness its almost a crime

Extremely stupid people are faily likely to be more intelligent than other (stupider) people, so your original statement is meaningless.

Don't be hating a perfectly legitimate word. How exactly would you say "ten thousand" in a single word? What ways do you get across "unknowable hordes"?
Hate the people, not the word. What did it ever do to you?
I could understand if myriad killed your father and raped your mother, but I'm not sure that is possible as we're dealing with an abstract concept.

being content means you settled for something because the better things in life seem to be unreachable
like your girlfriend right now - the reason why your girlfriend right now looks like a truck mechanic is because she's the best thing you could afford

Re: Intelligence.
If you think you are unhappy because you are intelligent you're just not intelligent enough to see that it's not true because you just are not feeding yourself the right brain stimulants like education and experience.
Many intelligent people suffer from that.

happiness lies in little things, waking up and finding a note from a loved one, passing an exam you thought you failed, driving a car at high speed through a corner and feeling the rush of barely controlling it, but knowing you are in control.
Constant happyness is being content with the situation you in.
That other state you are refering to is 'euphoria'
