Last years goals were about tying up loose ends.
This year for me it will be focused on progression and moving forward.

Re: The New Year thread (part two)
One of my aims (and I expect will be the most difficult) is to start going to the gym.
My other aims are more necessities, such as getting a job and moving out of my dad's house, back into London.
How many people are having "go to the gym" more as a resolution? We might be able to spur each other on in some kind of internet-style calendar based tally!!

I also need to start using the gym more often, my school has a better gym than any fitness first/other gym I've seen and its free for me, only thing is that my roaccutane (acne medicine) makes my muscles ache if I do exercise so I guess I'll have to start the gym after I finish my medication (should be done definitely by the end of february if not before)

- find a cheaper place to live, in the center of Eindhoven;
- study (even more) seriously now. this means i should go to bed earlier;
- pay more attention to my gf;
- join a hockeyclub in Eindhoven to train there, continue playing matches in Twente;
- get money to go on studytrip to Berlin, Munich and Prague and visit the UK with my gf in summertime;
- oh and i shall try to make better posts here.

I generally feel that two is enough for a night out though i do supplement them with other things. Ive never had more than 7/8 in the space of 24 hours.

I'm going to try and
- gain a stone, which shouldn't be too hard.
- club slightly less.
- save money, if only for the first three months of the year.
- produce an open source housing management system.
- make more contributions / edits to Wikipedia.

Re: The New Year thread (part two)
Smoke less, drink less, eat healthier, practice safe(r) sex, gym a lot more and spend a week in Hawaii during the summer and a week in New York in the fall.
I will also cut down my use of the word "f*ck" to half.

Re: The New Year thread (part two)
Actually that is something I need to cut down on, swearing. I swear quite a bit too much and just don't realise it. It's a bad habit that can be cut out quite easily without a lot of pain.

Drink less; smoke less; get more exercise; post here better; hope for that "clear blue sky" day.

Re: The New Year thread (part two)
Welllll, I guess 'ideally' the following are on the list
- Give up smoking
- Start eating more healthily (perhaps using Fitday or something to keep track)
- Go for a run or head to the gym before work 3 times a week
- Sort out my seemingly out-of-control drinking
- Take my girlfriend out more
though I don't really think I'll manage to give up the fags entirely, I'd be happy being down to one in the evening after work. The running before work I want to try though, I'm a stamina-less loser at the minute.

I was hoping to break symmetry but apparently the cooling universe beat me to it.
I guess it's back to my perpetual resolution to travel faster than the speed of light. Backwards. With a pie. On one of those funny bikes with the big wheel in the front.

I though French might be one of the easier ones to pick up. Spanish was recommended as a better option but I don't actually like Spain particularly and in any case my sister speaks it so its played out. Dante suggested I learn Chinese but I don't really see myself going to China too often.
Also its possible the Foreign office will pay for me to learn French.
Erm... I like the way French sounds.

I wouldn't worry about the capital letter thing. Your posts are usually pretty legible anyway without too much word-squashing or anything

On a serious note, if you are thinking of starting at the bottom of a supermarket company, Tesco is probably the best one you could go for.
They recruit nearly all their staff internally. The people who are store managers (or area managers) now will have been lackeys at some point. They really reward their staff so if you want to rise up to a managerial position without many qualifications, they're quite a good place to start.

No. However mine isn't right either. It's de l'amour.

I doubt de l'amour is right, that just translates to "the the love" no?

Re: The New Year thread (part two)
No.
I said "d'amour" because I thought amour (being love) was masculine, so was writing "du amour". That obviously gets abbreviated to "d'amour". Which means "of (the) love".
Apparently it's feminine though, so it would be de l'amour!

I want to use the money saved on cigs to buy better drugs.
I want to try LSD.
I want to go to Australia.
I'll probably end up doing none of them
Although I will:
