What do you do to sleep?

Dear GD.

Sometimes I have problems getting to sleep. In the past I use the combo of killing som krauts in close combat 3 and some hot coco. Worked wonders.
Now my new graphic card wont run close combat 3.

And yes, Im am a bit pissed today, couse I havent gotten a secound of sleep all night.

Anyone got tips of tricks?

I don't have a problem with sleeping (except I sleep too much maybe) but you could try either exercising (this will only help in the longer term, not the short term) or reading a rather "heavy" book. I used to find reading a particularly dense philosophical work would make my eyes tired after some time.

Also watch your diet during the day, avoid stimulants, etc.

I exersice twice a week, and I eat healthy and not between meals, so I cant do anything about that really.
Okey, I could work out more, maybe I can take up jogging if I find somewhere I can jog (cant do it on asfalt, becouse I ****ed up my knees for life).
I usually drink one cup of coffe a day (seldom later than 17).

Don't eat cheese before you intend to sleep.

Having a really good lucid imagination does wonders though( the whole you are doing something but you aren't really doing it but it feels so real in your mind you don't notice and bam).

Keeping your room really cold so you have to wrap up warm is also good too.

I don`t have problems getting to sleep, it`s just that when I wake up at about 4am in the morning, it`s difficult getting back to sleep again. I`ve been trying some slow breathing technique that seems to put my mind at rest (probably altering some brain wave activity); eventually falling asleep.

i have troubles going to sleep too, however, i know what is wrong, i simply aint tired.

I mean, if i wake up at 11 you cannot expect me to sleep at 23 unless i didnt have my 7/8 hours of sleep.

So here is the trick.

You know on friday that on monday you have to get out on 10 am on sunday since you have a hockeymatch, which is ofcourse, what the weekend is all about. You also know that on saterday you have to coach your girls and have to get out at 10 am.
Now you also know that all your classes were late this week and the earliest you got out of bed was 1200 and the latest 1400 and that there is no way you will sleep before 0300. So you don't. You go out on friday night after training untill 0400, drink a fair bit. Get home, watch the Bush and Kerry debate and at 0530, you close your eyes to go out of bed at 0930. Then you are busy the whole day and when you get back home at 2300, you can drink a beer and watch a little bit of telly, but at 0000 you are tired enough, maybe a quick wank and you are off for dreams and perfectly fit when you wake up between 0900 and 1000 the next morning.

Kalms take Kalms two 30mins before u are about to sleep

they are a herbal pill that can be bought over the counter in any pharmacy any where
They contain Valerian which is the main active ingredient.

Basically they clam the mind as in empty it of thought kind of.
IN a jar u get 100 my advice is take em month and half solidaly and then stop you will be fine for falling asleep forever.

In other times they help: nasty come downs take about 5/6 they get rid of xtc comedowns, they also get rid of the fear from smokin hash/grass. Some times if u take a few u get asleep after a bit of speed but they usually give me nightmares.

I've been told that kalms are herbal prozac bbut i think that this is just bullshit.

Oh one other thing they are coated in sugar dont be fooled into sucking them cos after the sugar they are rank!! just swally em!

If you smoke illegal substances, don't do it every night. Do it on the nights that you are very tired. Of course, taking it in the day makes you more sleepy at night. Or not, I have heard that it does.

although, i do definitely think alcohol is better for sleep than weed, its just the way it is.
