While You Were Away
Ladies and gentleman I regret to inform you that in this brief interlude Anna Nicole Smith has died. the cause is unkown but speculation (by me) sees the birth of her daughter 3 days ago as a possible factor. this was most shocking as she was only 39.
Why won't Margret thatcher just drop dead?

I just heard about this from my sister-in-law. I don't know why but I laughed, not because I'm sadistic and am glad she's dead, but the fact that it's all they're going to be talking about on the news tonight, and I could never stand her.

Re: While You Were Away
Not long ago, the son of the old man she married, and who was contesting her getting any money from his father's will, also died. I smell a movie plot.

Her daughter is actually 5 months old. Anna Nicole's son Daniel, died in the Bahamas in her hospital room, just days after her daughter was born in September.

She's a huge, disgusting, fat airhead, the biggest gold-digger in the world who is a waste of air time and advertising money, who is not even entertaining, who's got no talent other than maybe sucking a basketball through a garden hose.

Well she seems important enough to have some average person on the internet having such strong opinions about her.

You're married and therefore not allowed to see any woman as attractive though!

From this article:

She spent years in court fighting his son for a share of his estate, and won a victory at the Supreme Court in 2006.

One of Smith's lawyers told Reuters news agency her husband Howard K Stern was "speechless and grieving".

So it turns out she won the old man's money (news to me) and she was married when she died (also news to me) so I'm guessing her husband is the benefactor and he gets the billions.

the son won the case for the money, afaik she then went to the surpeme court to get it overturned or something, not entirely sure if she got the money.

She did. Supreme Court sided with her in deciding her husbands will was binding. She got it all.

Re: While You Were Away
She was supposed to get a portion, not all of the guy's money and (afaik) she never went after all of it. She was due to get around $80million of the total estate of $1.2billion, but the estate have refused to pay.
Now, there's also a paternity suit going on over the daughter, plus there's uncertainty over whether her marriage to her own lawyer was a real wedding or just a ceremony.
So, the daughter is obviously entitled to Smith's cash, but whether she gets that cash depends on lawyers arguing over the willed monies, then the paternity suit (lawyers) will determine who gets to look after the daughter and hence have some control over that cash, but if the paternity suit determines that the guy who isn't the lawyer is the father, then the husband will have to prove (in court - lawyers) that he really did get married and thus is entitled to a share of the cash, depending on whether the first bunch of lawyers decide if there's any cash to hand out.
That clear enough?
Thanks to my wife for putting this on TV last night for hours on end while I tried to read a book...
We should ask dda how much he charges and whether there'd be any spare change out of the $80million after all those other lawyers have finished arguing with each other...
