So, like, I just watched Dogma for the first time
Ace.
But I don't get it...?
Did they cross the seal or not?
If so, why didn't the world collapse and such when they were both killed?
If not, why were they not allowed to kill them?
I think it's actually quite easy to follow, but I got a bit distracted towards the end.

Kevin Smith is a God.
Watch all his films so you understand the entire plot line.
i.e.
Clerks,
Mallrats,
Chasing Amy,
Dogma
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

As I am actually Dante Hicks, I can definitely say that only the first two movies in that list are good.
They get worse as the series goes on, in fact.

Dogma > Chasing Amy > Mallrats imo but they are all good. I havent seen they other 2 yet, need to get round to doing so at some point. I was drunk when watching Dogma so cant really remember how the ending worked, i just know the film was hilarious.

I had no idea Jay and Silent Bob were in it.
It came as a bit of a surprise, albeit a nice one.

If, by the "second half " you mean "the last thirty minutes " then yes, I completely agree, it was pretty crap.

The subplots run through all films.
If you watch them all you kind of glimspe the 'jay and silent bob universe'
Theyre in all of them.

Hooper: And Jedi's the most insulting installment. Because Vader's beautiful black visage is sullied when he pulls off his mask to reveal a feeble, crusty, old white man! They tryin' to tell us that deep inside we all wants to be white!
Banky Edwards: Well, isn't that true?
hehe
chasing amy was ace.
however
the best film for 'jay and silent bob action' was the 'strike back' one.
Chaka: Crazy crackers with guns. Its time I get my black ass out of here!
Chaka: Do you know that I came up with the idea for Sesame Street? I came up with it before PBS. The white man stole it! That's right! I was gonna call it "N.W.P." - Niggaz With Puppets. Catchy, ain't it?
Jay: Holy hell, is that monkey waving at us? Oh ****! It understood us! Maybe it's some kind of super monkey. What if there's more supermonkeys up at that lab? WHAT IF THEY'RE CREATING AN ARMY OF THEM? Holy ****! It must be a conspiracy like in the X-Files....ROSWELL style! This little monkey could be the ****in' damn dirty ape responsible for the fall of the human race. In this world gone mad, we won't spank the monkey- the monkey will spank us. And after the fall of man, these monkey ****s'll start wearing our clothes and rebuilding the world in their image! OH and only those as super smart as me will be left alive to bitterly cry - DAMN YOUS! Goddamn yous all to hell!

I personally love Mallrats the best because Brody is just so funny. But I also love Chasing Amy's Banky

Well, as the point of crossing the seal was to remove them of sin, and they then went and killed a load of people, do you think they had sin when they were killed, immaterial of whether they crossed the seal or not?

They killed that load of people before they crossed the seal, though.
