This is why Word files are so unnecessarily large

You can often get interesting information from any binary files by opening a DOS prompt and typing:
strings filename.txt | more

Just about any word processing program does the same thing as word. That is why when you publish something use should publish it as a .tif or the evolved better version .pdf cause then people can only see what you give them. You can also lock it for editing and give it a signature to insure its not a fake.

You can use filetype:doc to match by filetype.

It was installed by default on Win95, I think. Things might have changed since then.

Every Wordprocessing program is the same way. Try it on a wordperfect document or staroffice. You get the same damn results. Its just another people being stupid stories where Microsoft haters spin into another Microsoft sucks story.
