Good "fantasy" movies
Well, the subject really tells it all.
I want some fantasy type movies, and i have no clue at where to begin.
All "genres", etc cartoons, anime-type movies, horrible hollywood etc.
All helpfull comments and spam is greatly appreciated.

Akiria = best anime ever
You could look into some of the japanese/chinese martial art's movies were they run over water and over tree tops, and break peoples elbows with a tap of a finger and **** like that.
There's Conan the Barbarian/Destroyer
Dungeons and Dragons, although the less said about that the better.
Cartoons are were the most fantasy type stuff is.
Hollywood isn't really big on sword and sorcery films unfortunately. Well, not counting LoTr of course. Or Harry Potter.

Belgy, thanks for all the info. Its sad that there are no really good fantasy movies (exept maybe LOTR).
Conan is also "fun", but that's only beacause its soo ****ty.
So, my quest is on. Cartoons it is!

Willow is one of the better examples of the genre
but you also have:
krull
The princess bride (bestest film evar!!!!!!11222)
anime wise, you could do worse than:
ninja scroll (the live action one is a bit dodgy though)
and (depending on your 'taste')
legend of the overfiend
and vampire hunter d2 seemed ok, but ihavent seen it all

I remember when me and some mates saw D&D one evening.
We laughed and cursed a lot.
So I recommend: Red Sonja!
Yeah. I liked it a lot when I saw it, though it must be mentioned that I couldn't have been more than 11 back then.

Akira is good, but not the best. possibly the best out of the "popular anime groupie" scene, but it is beaten by almost anything produced by Studio Ghibili: Laputa: Castle in the Sky, Mononoke Hime, Nausicaa Valley of the Wind, My Neigbour Totoro, Spirited away, and Porco Rosso. There is an awful lot of other good anime out there too that is better than akira - though I will admit the animation quality is extremely good.

I seen a good film called Shower Head, its sort of like, adult fantasy, and its great if you want to beat off, which you might struggle to do watching Harry Potter.

The Princess Bride has to be the best 'fantasy' film ever. Its got the lot really, a princess, a hero, a giant and of course that hilarious spaniard!!
Otherwise Dragon Heart is pretty good.
Krull is another but cant remember how good it is.
Legend, Willow, Time Bandits (fantastic!!) which have all been mentioned.
And of course there is Jason and the Argonaughts and Clash of the Titans.
