Reading/Leeds lineup announced
http://www.readingfestival.com/displ...asp?PageID=333
Foo Fighters, Pixies, NOFX, Queens of the stone age, Incubus, Jimmy Eat World, Kings of Leon
And they're just the ones that I particularly like!
It's looking like a decent lineup this year!

It does. Killers, Kasabian and the Futureheads will be good too.
I spent my 'concert allowance' on tickets for coldplay, u2 and rem though

Looks better than last year and probably the year before, and presumably there are still many lesser acts to be announced.

Re: Reading/Leeds lineup announced
if Muse were there it would compare to the amazing lineup of 2002.
It's not far behind though.
Glastonbury doesn't have any confirmed bands that I want to see yet.
I'm deciding which to do at the moment...

The V festival looks to have the best lineup this year. In a perfect world I'd goto both, but I'll have trouble getting to V as it is.

I've heard this from my brother who knows the son of one of the organisers or something.
Anyway in conclusion Bad Religion and Rancid are both likely.

Re: Reading/Leeds lineup announced
I saw Incubus and NOFX last year (plus a shitload of other bands that I saw in my life) - saw Queens of the Stone Age, New Found Glory and Interpol for 3 nights in a row just this weekend, and I'm hung over and my neck hurts.
But I would go to that festival you guys are having to go see Incubus and Queens of the Stone Age because they will rock the life out of you. (when are the Queens playing up there? I just saw them 2 nights ago...)

Re: Reading/Leeds lineup announced
I'm not overly impressed by the lineup. Don't like the Foos or Maiden, and the pixies aren't among my favourite bands. I'm sure there'll be some good new bands there (Hard-Fi, Apartment and The Editors are names to look out for...), but I can see them in small venues, where it'll be a better gig- not better than a festival atmospher maybe, but better musically.

Could have googled this but okay.
The females of the pixies went solo and made some excellent tracks in the early 90´s. What was the name of that band again?

Kim Deal of the Pixies formed The Breeders with Tanya Donelly (Throwing Muses) and Josephine (Perfect Disaster) ~1990, they sucked.

Pft, as tempting as a beer sounds, i'd rather do well in my exams
But I see NIN next week, so that's enough excitment for me tbh.

Ordered tickets for Reading.
I'd go for NOFX alone tbh but the others look promising.
Keeping my fingers crossed that Rancid play too.

I'm quite keen on going to Glastonbury again this year.
After my financial difficulties recently I don't think it'd go down too well with my generous benefactor though

hopefully concrete jungle will be better this year. it was great in 03 and shitty last year. if BR are playing they'll probably be headlining CJ though.

120 pounds sterling for the whole weekend is a bit steep.
and there's no one day that seems outstanding so the one day tickets also seem a bit steep...
it's a pitty as i'd really like to go to a festival this year.

Yeah. I had realy expensive Reading one year; 2002 I think when the Foo Fighters performed. We missed the last train. I won`t go in to details, but fortunately she brought her credit card with her, and we ended up paying £150 for one night in a small double. Air contioned, en-suit bathroom, lifts on all floors, swimming pool, bloody good breckies.
