Unit Scan
This scan gives you an overview of all ships the target planet has, with a distortion factor of up to 20% due to interference. It ignores distorters.
This scan costs 4000 of each resource.

Re: Unitscan how much % from real fleetsize

Note that the distortion factor is the same for all ships in a scan, so it won't be +8% for one ship and -7% for another. If the distortion factor is an issue, you can do a few in a row and manually take the average for a better estimate.

Alternatively, take advantage of the fact that most people buy their ships in round numbers. If you see 19372 Harpies and 9686 Phoenix, it's probably actually 20000 Harpy and 10000 Phoenix, especially if that means other ship numbers also come out to round(ish) numbers.

And finally, you can use the Universe -> Combat Reports page to help fill out the picture.

So he gave them the coy little wave and realized it probably would have been more effective if he hadn't been lying on their turkey.

God, I'm so happy I'm not the only one who did like 10 unit scans to be precise

Re: Unitscan how much % from real fleetsize

You could have saved a lot of time by doing 1 unit scan adding 20% and you've got the worst case scenario straight away, no sense overcomplicating

Whether or not you're even able to cover something, or if you're overcovering something by 40% is a rather large margin of error.

Re: Unitscan how much % from real fleetsize

In case of incomings you have the exact total of incs to help you... hard to make a 40% error.
