Online Scams evolve!
Today as i woke up i heard my mum saying 'Well if this isnt a scam i dont know what is'

She brought the letter upto my room and let me read it.

It had no return address. Just our home address and my mums name at the top.

It was a variation of the 'i have a bank account with 1.23million dollars in it and you need to help me transfer it' job. This time it was in Hong Kong with a Hong Kong fax number to send bank account details too.

This is possibly the first time ive ever heard or even seen a letter like this. On the internet my mailbox (especially the planeterion one) is filled to the brim with the things but for a real letter to arrive...at my house..???

Paper felt cheap as hell too. However gotta give credit to whoever is trying it out. The risk must be a great deal more than online (for getting caught) and it mustve cost money to send out presumably thousands of letters in a mailshot after getting peoples addresses from online.

So anyone else had a 'real letter' scam sent?

Forget all those other Nigerian 419 scams. This one could be the real deal!

After all, these wealthy Hong Kong financiers had the wherewithall to send you the letter on 100% real paper.

That must make it really real.

JJ , its a combination scam. Pretty good one too.

Faxback number will undoubtedly be a premium rate number in Hong Kong, which youve no way of checking, unlike when you faxback to a premium rate number in the UK.
