MegaTokyo Online Comic
http://www.megatokyo.com
Okay, you might look at it and think it's another lame attempt by a comic strip to be funny. I mean, it's just another online comic right?
I'd disagree
I'm up to #83 now (i think there's about 800 or so?) and I've laughed very hard on several occasions, other times it's a mild 'heh', but very rarely are they unimpressive. The story is hilarious - yes there is some sort of plot, not just randomnes. I'd say it's even better than control-alt-delete or chugworth academy at their best. It's not all about the humor either, there are at times some deep cultural analysis of anime, irc, gamers and the way men look at women not to mention American and Japanese culture - so at a push u can feel okay because its 'educational'

I hope a few of you check it out - I'm thinking it's quite old(ish) so sorry if it's an old link... I just hope you enjoy it.

It appears to be nothing but the authors manifesting their fantasies on their comic avatars.

46-49 just confirm what I said above, and 50 is really really really stupid (DNF was in production long before Daikatana).

Re: MegaTokyo Online Comic
I quite enjoy Megatokyo. It isn't brilliant and it is rarely that funny anymore but the artwork has improved a lot and I like the story arc. It goes quite slow though so it was absorbing for me when I was reading them all in one go but then I had read so many I thought I may as well keep up with the new ones for the sake of 5 minutes a week.

Is this just complex viral spam? I think we should make the 'can't post link' rule be in effect until post 100.

If someone really bothered registering an account in 2002 in order to post this in 2006 then they deserve the publicity for sheer effort.

I almost expect Mahir to do cameo's.

Re: MegaTokyo Online Comic
The only web comic I read is ctrlaltdel. Some of them are great, most are probably not, but I find myself enjoying them, and I'm always looking forward to the next. I can't be bothered with more webcomics than one, but thank you for giving us the link anyway.

Re: MegaTokyo Online Comic
Scary-Go-Round is good if you like well drawn quirky, non punchline humour. More of a sit-com comic than a one liner type.
Mac Hall has some good funny comics. If only he updated more.
Achewood is somewhat strange but I quite like the bizzare humour in it. You have to read a few to get into it I think, and it's not a punchline comic either.
I keep up with Penny Arcade as it is clearly still one of the very best, I also keep up with PvP but that's just out of habit really.
A year or two ago I read MegaTokyo, but it just started to annoy me to be honest. The things you do to pass the time while unemployed eh?
I hate manga fanboy shit to be honest. Japaniese culture should be nuked (again).
