Conciliating
the act of reconciling or bringing together the parties in a dispute with the aim of moving forward to a settlement acceptable to all sides

Arbitrating
an independent arbitrator or arbiter (in Scotland) deciding the outcome of a dispute. The decision may well be binding in law.

Mediating
acting as an intermediary in talking to both sides. The aim is for the parties to resolve the problem between themselves but the mediator will make suggestions along the way.

Interesting idea...

I think you'd hit problems when deciding who would be neutral and discreet enough to run it though. The people taking part would have to prevent themselves from showing any bias whatsoever, or the whole project would lose all respect.


For the people don't know what ACAS is:
ACAS is a UK based body while reconciles disputes mainly between employers and workers. It is designed to be impartial and to only concider the evidence at hand. It then makes a judgement which the parties involved have agreed to respect when they entered the process. ie. when you consent to take a matter to them you agree to the result they agree upon.
