Zikonians(21.6% of players):
t5 - 100%
t10 - 70%
t50 - 52%
t100 - 49%
t200 - 41.5%
t500 - 35.4%
t1000 - 31.6%


Over/Under-representation per race in the t100 (ratio of actual to expected):
Cath: 0.13
Ter: 0.40
Xan: 1.50
Zik: 2.27


The three most alarming statistics are:
1) Cathaar are grossly underrepresented in the top200 and upwards
2) Zikonian are significantly overrepresented even in the top2000
3) Terrans are consistently underrepresented in the top1000


Possible explanations are respectively:
a) Cathaar low damage leads them to be disproportionately targetted, increasingly so as they rise in rank.
b) Shipstealing leads Zikonians to have larger fleets than others of their rank, resulting in less targetting
c) Newcomers are disproportionately signing up for Terran accounts, flooding the lower rankings and dwarfing the t1000 veteran terrans' numbers




I look forward to other possible explanations. If anyone wants I'll make a graph for better visualization of the statistical phenomena.

Kaol Satori, Jerome' told me to tell you that he knew the reason that caths were so un represented in top 200. Somethin to do with corsairs or tara weakness or summit. DOnt know where he heard it from though...
But please make some graphs- i like looking at pictures rather than words

Yes, stats exist. But even in your ignorance it can not be possible to blame it all on statistics.

um thread starter asked why we thought caths were underrepresented in top 200 and i gave my answer how i c it.
Jerome afaik 9/10 times at uni comps are alrady turned on so im safe on that front

So does anyone have an explanation for why Terrans are underrepresented in virtually every rank bracket but the last? Are half of the Terran players just really bad or something??

Because there are deceptively few of them with paid accounts. I think about 10% of the Terran accounts are paid accounts.
