I thought vBB had support for it built-in, external.php?type=rss2 or something similar, but if you try it here it just renders a blank page =(

You generally use it for browsing news headlines from various sites and you click on the headlines you want to read.

Firefox and Opera support it, you'd need a seperate application if you must use IE.

True, but it's aces double-plus if one is:

a) Far too lazy to wait for the whole page to load,
b) Too soaked in gin to read a whole page,
c) Lacking in spare bandwidth, or
d) Browsing with a portable device.
