what can make you not taste properly?
at the moment, chocolate and biscuits taste a bit like lemon juice and toothpaste tastes like soap

this isnt a one off or brand problem as i have just tested again with new purchases

any ideas what is wrong with my mouth?

Madi, my cousin had the same problem so she went to the doctor. Turns out she was pregnant. I'd get that checked out if I was you.

i cant have babies and havent had any sex since my last period so not pregnant
dont have aids was tested when going through all the fertility stuff when i found out all my tubes are buggered
only taste blood when flossing with too much vigour

Can you taste pure salt, sugar, pepper, a lemon, tea, and hmmmmm...
Aren't there only 4 kinds of "real tastes" anyway that your tongue can distinguish between?
I think they're "salty, sweet, sour and bitter".
The rest is done indirectly by your nose (i.e. if it's vanilla or strawberry or whatever).


What if you try to stay away from all "strong tastes" for a day, i.e. only drink water, eat plain bread maybe?


I made the experience that eating an apple after drinking peppermint tea is quite shit and fcks up your taste for a bit. But I assume you didn't drink peppermint tea :-/


Maybe your toothpaste was too strong and killed some "good bacteria" in your mouth? I've heard something like that.

I brush my tongue.

I have once accidentally done this too hard then subsequently Listerine'd my mouth to **** resulting in about three quarters of my taste sensations being ****ed sideways for about a week. Though this mightn't help at all, I did just use Listerine as a verb and so can call this a small victory regardless.
