The bigest fire drill in the world ever?
Cool - they're going to bring London to a halt 'sometime soon' (in terms of days) to do a terror attack drill.
Anyone fancy placing bets on how long it is before someone sues for loss of revenue?

Doesn't this go against the whole "if we let a couple of threats change our way of living then the terrorists win" theory?

if i were a terrorist, i would launch an attack during the drill. since most people will already know it will be a false alarm they wont bother taking part = more deaths.

You mean at the time security will be at it's maximum, and everyone is taking cover anyway?

i doubt everyone will be taking cover. you ever remember the fire alarms at school where it took 30 minutes for everyone to leave the buildings? now try to imagine several million londers paying any attention at all to any 'drill'.

It would probably make more sense to do it somewhere else in the UK. Not that anywhere else really matters.

Or keep setting the alarm off 10 times before the actual drill, then do the attack on the 9th time.

Some poof will stand up at the end and claim the drill was a result of a tennis ball hitting an alarm in the sports hall. (This happens with alarming regularity)

They are leaving a massive break between stikes, to stop public suport deteriorating with the constant chaos successive strikes would bring.

The dispute is still ongoing, although the strikes have stopped while negotiations are running.
So far there has been a firm offer of 11% from the employers, but there are strings attached.

Well, from what I undestand they are planning to do it of a weekend, A sunday I believe and around Bank station. There isnt anything going on in this area on a Sunday so there will be hardly any loss of revenue. Also pretty pointless to be honest seeing as there will be no bugger around!
Surely the point of a drill is to see how quickly victims (ie the public) respond and also how quickly the emergency services can get there. I dunno.

It's not a fire drill, it's just an excuse for Ken Livingstone to hold a gay pride carnival.

If you're right that's just dumb.
"Hey George, yeah we're just as prepared for terrorism as you are - we cleared everyone from a half mile radius round our drill site in 30 mins!"
"Cool Tony, how many?"
"9 people and a guide dog."
