The war approaching
It's bad and all.
The children and women will suffer, and all those "brave" men can go shoot people and bomb them just because they think it's the wild west.
MEN!

Again, it's not that simple. See it all stems from the first gulf war, but I doubt that you are old enough to remember it at all. Go look on some history websites.
And a matriarchal society is a nice idea in theory, in practice it just doesn't work.

51 percent of the people in the United States are women, and yet the United States has never had a woman president or vice-president. My German girlfriend told me she read in the news that Hillary Clinton would run for president in 2004 and would probably win; however, I read in the U.S. news that she would run in 2008, but no one knows whether she would even be selected to represent the democrats.

The Trojan War was fought because Helen, Queen of Sparta, fancied Paris, son of King Priam of Troy, and ran off with him. Inevitably, Helen's husband Menelaus wasn't too pleased, and when he turned up at Troy with a thousand ships and a hundred thousand troops, Helen refused to leave and return with him, presumably because Paris was better in bed than poor old Menelaus. Hence, the Trojan War was fought, resulting in the destruction of the most powerful city in Asia and the enslavement of its inhabitants (the women that is, the men were all slaughtered). All because of Helen.

Pay more attention in school then. The Trojan war was fought over Helen of Troy, not at the command of Helen, but because of her.

I am named after the city. That and James Dean. My first and middle names are Troy Dean. Not exactly a good combination, but I have learned to live with them.

If a wife leaves her husband and goes off with someone else, then the husband tracks down that person and murders him in a fit of jealousy, would that be "because of the wife" as well?

You have just been killed by a girl.
This is a real long article so I will summarize. A female U.S. pilot kills some terrorists or Taliban. Can't remember which now. This what she said when she saw the missile hit the truck.
With modern technology women and men are basically equal in their ability to kill.
In a knife fight, I would still bet on the man.

But the driving instinct behind men and women are different tho. I would say that nature is eradicated to some extent due to this technological progression as of late, so your half way right.

I would say men are more for offense and women are more for defense, by nature that is.
Some American football coaches say the best offense is a good defense. It could also be said that the best defense is a good offense.
It's kind of funny that the United States has a Department of Defense. It used to be called the Department of War. I think Department of War is more accurate.
Germany also has a Ministerium der Verteidigung (Ministry of Defense). In their case, the name is more appropriate.

Hey Julie,
When you graduate from high school, can we have a date? You look really cute.
You have elf ears though. Where did those come from? Your mother didn't fool around with Elrond did she?

actually, they say "behind every strong man is a good woman", i generally get the impression that it doesn't meant that she controls him or influences his military decisions too much, but rather the emphasis is on the 'good' and means that she stands by him, supports him and keeps him on the straight and narrow.
it is also fact (i think, if i'm wrong someone correct me), that men have a much better perception of space and distance than women, and as suchone would assume are better strategists (seeing as we're talking about war here).
p.s. off topic but that is why it is also fact that men are better drivers than women. it's just that women are more careful drivers.

in the states they teach 'history' as 'american history' and if you want to learn actual history you would have to take a subject like 'world history'.
although if i had my way everyone would know the works of thucydides and tacitus. but that's just me.

They don't even do a basic 'world history' type of thing? As in, a short bit about Romans and Greeks? And they have never been explained what the expression 'A Trojan Horse' is in English class? They don't know about Achilles, Odysseus, Agamemnon, Hektor, and even Zeus or Hera?

probably not. although to be fair, we probably only learn about them in our basic history lessons because of the roman invasions and the greek writings of our island.
