in-game bcalc improvements
There are some extremely annoying things about the in-game bcalc that I think could be improved:

1) If you load a calc that was saved by someone else, it does not use your selected skin. The default skin has a bright star right in one of the text boxes that makes it difficult to read the contents of with the default skin.

2) Calcs originally saved by someone else do not appear to have all functionality. For instance, the "Add Planet" and related links are not available. I don't see why this is.

3) Calcs originally saved by someone else that I then save are not listed in my saved calcs list. Why?

4) Comments added to a calc originally saved by someone else are not saved if I then save another copy of the calc.

These all need to be addressed.

Calcs made by someone else will adopt your skin and have full functionality IF they are launched in the same browser that you are currently logged into PA from, at least for me. Not sure about points 3 and 4.

1) No, it doesn't?
2) Yes, it does?
3) Yes, they are?
4) I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but if you mean that if you load someone's calc, add a comment, save the new calc and then load the new calc, the comment isn't saved... yes, it is?

Honestly, I'm not sure what the hell you're doing. I double checked all of these with a calc made by someone using the r21 skin, while I'm using text only. No problems whatsoever.


A problem that I did encounter is that, in the "My" list, the checkboxes to select which calcs should be deleted appear to be missing:

are you sure ure logged in when using these bcalcs bobthe?

i know if i have a calc open and then update it after a tick that logs me out it shows the stars background and i lose functionality. I have to log back in to the game and refresh calc page to get all my stuff back.

there isn't a check box, just click the rows (not the links) and you'll see they get highlighted, meaning they are selected. It's a bit less visible in some skins as they just make the bold.

as for the initial questions. it's because of the fact that the calcs are accessed on a different subdomain than the login to the game is. changed the calc urls to the same subdomain and it'll be as "normal".

Cin got me all sorted =) I usually log in using the IP address rather than the domain name just in case it can't be resolved (which has happened numerous times in the past). Everyone else for the most part uses the domain name though, so calc links sent to me didn't recognize my cookie. Easily fixed by changing the domain in the calc to the IP, or by logging in via the domain rather than the IP.
