What Music Do You Hack Too?
DJ Shadow - Organ Doner & High Noon
Looped constantly for the last hour and didn't even notice... lack of sleep and these class tunes enables a xen-like coding experience!

I don't tend to listen to music when I'm concentrating, I find it too distracting, although over long periods I may break the silence with something dancey or classical, nothing with any distracting words in it :O)

Godskitchen Summer Trance, looped, so that's like 3 and a half hours of music.
Or if I'm particularly stuck, a bit of Coldplay/Radiohead helps me remember that there's worse things in life to be depressed about than some bastard Prolog assignment.

Hard rock if its easy, rock (like disturbed feat tool -- killing you now) if its a bit harder, and techno that repeats (like stompin to my beat) if its quite hard. Or sometimes i just dont listen to any.

Lately I've been listening to The Band and The Beta Band. I go through phases tho, before it was Eagles, ELO and Elvis (notice how they all seem to start with the same letter :), before that Deep Purple, Santana and various other 70s rock.
PS
I dont care if you think my music is shit, so don't tell me.

Shadow is perfect music to code to. Lately I've found myself listening to his 'Dark Days' and 'Midnight in a Perfect World' EP's.

Lately it has been mostly Apocalyptica mixed with a few songs selected songs from varios bands.
For coding i prefer music that can put your mind to peace as well as inspiring it.
