Re: So it took quite a while to happen
Happy Birthday Deffeh.
Now starts the inevitable decline into old age where you can finally be a bitter old man rather than an angry young one.
Hope your day is cool and that.

Re: So it took quite a while to happen
Five days to go for me. And as luck would have it, my birthday's on a Friday night.
Oh, and there are two groups of people (school mates and work mates) who want to get me trashed.
Damn.

Thankyou very much to the unwashed masses of GD, some of whom actually like me, and others who dont but made an effort to be nice anyway.

Re: So it took quite a while to happen
Well, yes. Last night for example (ok, granted it was an 18th).. they id'd EVERYONE inc my 6 foot 7 mate at the bar, only accepted passport or drivers license, and if you were buying more than one drink, you had to have id for the person you were buying it for.
Every off license around here tends to ID. Pubs i dont have a lot of experience with and i dont like clubs at all but certainly tons of my friends underage and of age get id'ed all the time.
Also, i dont really make an effort. I have a fair bit of money, but i dont spend anything on clothes, havent had a haircut in a year and a half, etc. Im a state. I dont like planning "nights out" without being sure of where im going and whether i can get in etc

Re: So it took quite a while to happen
Well, its not everywhere. Some places my friends have gone since they were 14 +/-, with about a 75% success rate.
Im lazy though, and i dont really like pubs too much. I need to know for 100% that ill get in

Re: So it took quite a while to happen
It annoys me that there doesn't seem to be any official government ID other than drivers licence (huge cost to get) or passport (gigantic).
Actually it doesn't because I'm not 18. But it probably will when I am, because I don't intend on learning to drive.

Why would you need TWO pieces of id? Do they think that if it's just the one, everyone will fake them?

I have one of those fancy picture drivers licenses.

Re: So it took quite a while to happen
I have finally stopped being ided (hello jinx).
I think my scruffy "i dont give a **** and i look maybe old enough and because im obviously not trying to look old i probably am" look is working.
Either that or it's because i'm now 23.
