Famously Misheard Lyrics
"Looked on the Bed , The Brother was Dead" - Moby - Natural Blues
Anyone know what those lyrics Actually are, and can you suggest other instances of Lyrics that you have mishead and sound completely different to what theyre supposed to say.

And there are misheard lyrics sites like amiright.com, so I'm afraid I'm going to have to pronounce this thread shite.

Re: Famously Misheard Lyrics
Blinded by the light, I have no idea who sings it but it's famous for people misunderstanding the lyrics. Also the big ol' jet airliner song by the Steve Miller band and pretty much every song made by Nirvana.

Re: Famously Misheard Lyrics
Hrm... only one instance springs to mind, and it was a shit pop thing that was around when i was 13 or somesuch young, not quite so innocent but still puerile age.
The actual lyrics went "Oh your body is so brown, let me look you up and down" but everyone thought it said "Oh your body is so brown, let me lick you up and down". Much hilarity prevailed.
...
Not funny, but i don't quite know how this thread was expected to be...
-edit- GOOD GOD!
I've just checked this out, and it seems that the "lick you" version was ACTUALLY CORRECT.
This means that the parents of the time simply LIED to us to keep us vaguely innocent.
Shocking revelation. SHOCKING!
(and it was "Oh your body is my playground, Let me lick you up and down.", in some song by R. Kelly. Two questions immediately spring to mind. 1) Has it just got warped in my mind over the stretches of time? 2) why the **** was i listening to R. Kelly?!! )

It was obviously 'lick you'; what the hell would 'look you' mean?

Re: Famously Misheard Lyrics
Theres a song being played on radio 1 now (not necesseraily this precise moment) that has the lyrics "take me to the clouds above" which, when i first heard it, sounded like "take me to the Calder Club", which is a social club-type-thing in my town.

Actually I think I remember two versions - the 'clean' one as well as the 'dirty' one.
(It's the 'boom boom boom let me hear you say wayo' song isn't it?)
