Fleet Update:

Considering that my co-ords are spammed all over this board, and that Military scans are out anyway, i decided to paste my current fleet for you all to see and discuss.

Other fleets (with rounded numbers so we cant find you etc

) are welcome to use as a comparison.

Score: ~3.5 mil.

I am low on Vsh atm because a large percentage got wasted defending the other night and i cba to re-build them. The Pulsars can kill some 300 Pegs/ tick, and i am proud of that

. Astropods exist just because i may beed a 2nd attacking fleet. My lack of Sentinels is due to me now having no excess C - in fact i have so few roids that i am in a severe shortage in everything

.

Anyway, comments? Comparisons?

My M:C ratio is right out, as i've been consentrating on building lyvidian so any left over M i spend on Vsh Fi

I had more Vsh, but got a fleet with Vsh/Sents caught returning from def when i had uncovered incoming.
I had more Pulsars, but got a fleet returning from def caught when 0 def attended the party, lost approx 4k 2 weeks ago.

Since those 2 ugly mornings in a row i wanted to go more roid-fleet only (was lacking Arrows before it), but the Pulsars will 'have' to come back now.
What kinda bugs me, is how the pulsars tend to drop like flies comparing to your vsh in bigger battles...or atleast that was the feeling i got during the first couple of weeks.

And btw...it took me 2 def-missions to fall in love with my Broadswords, they clearly do rock. :]

I'm sticking to the plan I've chosen before and can't say I'm disappointed or thinking of changing it.

Anti-de vulnerability in defence is compensated by the fact that my gal is active enough to log in at least once during the incoming on us and that 9 other planets in gal have good anti-de defence.
Scorpions are really there only for the single reason that I always use them to completely freeze some xan attacking one of the smallest planets in my gal

Attacking is indeed much more difficult than it was in earlier rounds when I had 100% EMP fleet and could attack 3 good targets at the same time easily

But I got used to it and getting roids isn't really a problem and I believe I still can usually attack more effectively than terran / xan / zik planets of the same size.

I'm not having a great round, i've only had like 3 nights without attackers since protection ended, and in most 24hr perioids i'll be attacked at least 3 times (lo to the 11 2mil+ attackers when i was like 500k)

I got up to nearly 2mil once, but then i got attacked and as i'm normally drunk when i get in, i ran the wrong fleet

ANywho, a big thanks to my alliance for keeping my losses relatively low and for putting up with my very frequent defence calls

had my fighters wiped out 2 weeks ago and still recovering. I focus on defending against those pesky terran De-raids with my clippers. i have 50 clippers and 50 cutters in queue

the corvettes are just from the very beginning, i won't build any of them again. atm i am focussing on clippers, 100 in production and i'll build em till i reach 1k.
(spare metal goes to cutlass).

My fleet isn't what i want it to be, but it serves quite well....

Umm....... If you create only CO and FI Then most of the bs ships (that usualy target CO and FI) will destroy them easily! (and CO or FI dont attack bs)

yes, but my gal and alliance can supply me with that def, and I have lots of anti-fi/co/fr/de def, with a bit of anti-cr. so if I need anti-bs they can help me, and when they need the more frequent other def i'll help them.

But your allaince is missing out on one of the best anti-BA units ever - since the R4 Black Widow, imo. The Broadsword fully kicks the arse of the most dangerous BA (imo) the Wyvern, as well as spanking all other battleships with exception of the pirate.

And the good news is, that the Broadsword fires before the Wyvern....

I already pretty much have 3 fleets out all the time anyways, usually 1 attacking, 1 anti-co attack and the other a de attack, broadswords would sit at home collecting dust. also I aint constructed the fr place yet

Some really unpleasant person decided to attack my 4 mil planet with 250 roids. He killed my Pulsars (which returned from an early def mission on the same tick to meat 8k Arrowheads and numerous Cath Ships)

I lost some 77 roids, about 1.3 mil score and alot of hope that my planet might actually be ok.

Now i have lost that hope. As rounds progress, i seem to do worse and worse, and its amazing how disenhearntening not having a succesful attack for a month is.

I have used my salvage on more pulsars, but my reign of killing 350 pegs / tick is sadly over

i have a couple of thousand roids now also

thats updated from above i think--
ive been concentrating on sents and and vsh in pairs
but what i tend to do is build me resources up for 6 or 7 ticks then buy a few hundred frigs

when they are eta 8 to build i build as many corvettes

when they are eta 4 to build i get as many fighters

then i get a nice mix and my score jump in one go
but i now have 300 broadswords coming in and am not gonna build broadswords for a while as i think 1000 is enuf when combined with the rest of my fleet

ah well.. i still can swarm some ppl with it

Notice the "small" amount of pulsars: with losts of xans around i hardly ever build them anymore... vsharks+sentinils are WAAY better buy for your cash, arrowheads are sorta crap to relie on cos they fire AFTER fi. while the less efficient vshark fires BEFORE all making me some less attractive

I had (still have occasionally) the habbit of sleeping through attacks (all of them early on) because of my new job and me just not giving much of a care to pa anymore so I'm not quite as big as last round :P

Almost 7 mil score...

Roaches ownz vs cruis / dev (My alliance keeps beggin for them

) and atm I'm going for 10k of them.
Put all my spare crystal into spiders, ofc for anti co def with low eta.
The scarabs + defenders are a bit left from the beginning of the round....
The beetles ownz vs xan with tons of fi class....
Widows for anti co/frig support

So far it is going great, and I can't see the use of a crui/bs fleet atm, so I doubt it will ever get there....

Atm my favorite target are ofc xan, easy to block, with good cap.... but it would be nice if for once my targets would NOT get defence
