A few ideas to kick around...

Allow everyone to sign up individually, and assign them to teams by location, so you play with the 10 ppl who are closest to you physically. The final might end up as East London vs Rotterdam or something like that :-)

Great for going out for a drink and celebrating after with your new friends!

Run the game for 24/36 hours non-stop, but everyone HAS to take a 72 tick vacation at some point (or maybe 2 of them).

If we run this before Christmas, I'll offer my office for a 10 person lan central London team :-)

I think that might be very hard to pull of, if some1 lives very spread out in australia\china etc.

Would be fun though, to batter mongob0ffels Ålesund team once and for all.

Most already replied in here... But well guys we need to help out spinner a bit

I didn't see many people who where talking about Pax or P9.5 but if spinner don't want to use P9.5 code, we have limited options. But he also said that 1 minute ticks is to short for Pax, which is a bit of a problem, since speedround should be based at speed.

About the vacation mode.. That's an option that should not been used! Speedround is bashing 24 non stop imho. For the sake of the servers maybe a rest period of 30 min or so. But complete chaos is the best there is! We will seperate man from mouse. And because i will be sitting on a lan with 20 dutchies, i'm sure we all end up as man.. Nobody will get a chance to sleep!

Still hard to figure out what is best, regions/country or just one big bashing..

Para/cluster should be ruled out imho

most prefer private, I don't care..

With these info spinner can do something

speedgames, yes, ofc, I'll play!!

plz do it before 12 december, after that I am gone for 6 weeks

I prefer oldstyle, much better for the 1 or 2 minute ticks. and I'd like to play bg's contest, not region/country or alliance wise. alliances are for real PA, speed is for playing with friends imo.

I haven't recieved an invitation yet, but ppl know where to find me if they need some extra help ;-)

Don't find me on irc atm, I drowned my laptop.... don't ask.....

My opinion:
Random/Private Regional Cup
since Spinner said r9 code cannot be used then still it should be 1 minute ticks in speed round as its all about speed as thunder said so if its r10 or not it should be 1 minute ticks, that will seperate the warriors from teh peons and imo i think we can handle r10 code with 1 minute ticks coz i've tried 10 minute ticks and its like _BORING_ .
Also BGs are nothing in Regional Cup as its useless, its all about 2-3 gals if its regions.
only a normal speed round ( not regional ) can have BGs.
+ if its ur region u wont play to honour ur alliance but to honour ur country/region :-) .

I even started playing PaX beta especially for the speedround again, while I was about to retire ;-)

But we dutchies always have and always will rock the Speedrounds!

I dont care much about wich stats we play, but Region wise would be nice and 24 hours straight on is also very cool... Lets rock and roll again :-)

the ppl I spoke are much more into speedrounds then creators can imagine I think. It's lots of fun and much more exciting.

That is the same feedback ive seen

And tbh if the tickspeed is above 1minute there is noway i am playing(same with any others).

heh, Bergen (norway) team would be rather **** though.

I would grow bored after 24minutes (24 ticks)
Furbie Fanatic would be smoking pot,and falling asleep with soime 14year old girl.
Rambo2k would run around chasing 15 year old girls.

Oye would be to busy to to complain about his lack of funds and how he cant afford beer.
SBS would be sucking his security blanket and crying after seeing us old drunk folks behaving like idiots.

Prolly forgot some people, but then again, my memory is ****e, heh. But then again, i think we all quit pa, more or less.
And i personaly wouldnt waste a weekend dorking around with pax, as its rather dull, and its no longer pa, just some other game.

If you want players, do regions like before. Scandinavia, Aussie etc etc.

PA isn't about prizes. It's about the community spirit, having a planet to look after and get up in the middle of the night to protect. It's about gaining respect from players, and fooling around in IRC. It's about defending your mates and alliance. It's about helping your alliance do the best it can.

It's not about winning some novelty item at the end of the round.

That beeing said, i do honestly think that they should pay previous WC winners their prices, and get it over with once and for all. They dissapoint and "lie to" their customers more then they do good, thats why they should start with the small things and try to make people belive in them again, mabye regain respect (if its not to late).

Like things are now, and spinner as a private individual came to me asking for a personal loan (from the firm, not me

), and i knew it was he who "ran" pa, i would deny it without even thinking about it due to the way this firm has been run.
It cant be trusted, and thats not a good quality for anyone or anything. Thats why they should try and regain some trust doing "little" things and build up PR again.

They cant all be winners. If you truly belive that crap you said then you most likely think the muppet show is a real life documentary. Anyone who still see loyality to Planetarion as holy issue needs professional help. Everyone who still plays this game play it because they:

Which of these you fit in with I dont know or care, but you have never been noticeably good in planetarion so I have to rule out c. Perhaps you managed to get into a place of influence which wouldent be that odd as most people with some skill left 1-2 years ago.
