'Welcome to the galaxy'...
I (as GC) should be able to write a mail which is automatically sent to any new planet arriving in my galaxy, introducing them to the galaxy and telling them what is expected of them.
This can't go on the overview because it would be too long and utterly pointless for everyone else who has already seen it, and similarly it would take up space on the forum for no benefit, and would probably be lost underneath newer threads.

Re: 'Welcome to the galaxy'...
You do know you can tag things in the forum as GC ? To make it important? So that it stays ontop.

A onjoin mail is much more noticeable. Also it should be simple to code in.

Not to mention it's more personalized and gives the newcomer a feeling of being included.

I suppose if they don' give you this feature you could always maybe just save your message in a word document

Re: 'Welcome to the galaxy'...
I think it would only have meaning if it was by default off, that the GC had to write their own unique message (no automation at all) - infact, the only thing that is automated is that a mail is sent as soon as a planet joins the galaxy.
Because then if the GC and/or ministers are offline, they'll get the needed infor immediately, rather than having to wait till both are online or whatever.
I like the idea, generally.

Either i'm reading it wrong (very well possible), or you are contradicting yourself?
I think it is a great idea and don't see why it hasn't been implemented yet. As others mentioned a mail is much more personal and they get the notice of a new mail making them aware they have something to read, instead of hoping they read all information on the overview or forums. A direct approach is usually much more effective and besides that it immediatly starts a communication link for the new planet, given the mail is sent with either GC or MoC as sender who can be replied to without having to do alot of/any research into the game itself.

I'm sorry i didnt notice your reply earlier; whilst what i said could be seen as a contradiction, what i meant was that there was no automation of the content of the mail, however the actual transmission of the unique (to each galaxy, GC whatever) mail was automated.

Re: 'Welcome to the galaxy'...
An option for ministers to write a message via the politics screen that is sent to anyone who joins the galaxy automatically? Wasn't that the suggestion?

Re: 'Welcome to the galaxy'...
I have always sent one myself, though, having it hardcoded into the game isnt a bad idea, albeit the fact that it isnt hard to do manually (hardly seems to have much of a point to me).
